We are used to Roman stuff being military so it's nice to see a more French- type villa. The Christian wall piantings have been moved to the British Museum, so that's a different trip. Good place to go in bad weather as it's undercover. Mosiacs...More

Very informative and interesting site. The video is really good as well, showing the growth of the villa. I found it fascinating how advanced the Romans were. Easy to combine a trip here with nearby Eynsford Castle (great for picnics). Well worth a visit.

The film and lighting show to tell you all about the history of the site is very well done. But there is still plenty of time to have a good look around and absorb the atmosphere and the myriad of details worth spotting.
