An opportunity to sample a very wide range of honey's, all organic.
The visitors shop had a wide range of honey based products and other memorabilia, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great place to visit. The kids loved the honey tasting, searching for the Queen Bee and the different activities. There is often candle making in the holidays. Great gift shop with lots of local products at good prices.

Good display of honeys with lots of tasting samples. Also some original honey cosmetic products - generally very interesting.

Interesting and educational. Never before had the opportunity to taste so many honeys including genuine Manuka. I thought there would be more information/presentations about bee-keeping and actually what goes on in a hive.
For sampling free disposable spoons are used but it was a bit disconcerting to see people using the same spoon throughout the process and touching the spouts on the sampling pumps.
Beautiful countryside on the way to it. Good to see a successful independent producer.

Seeing the bees was amazing! My husband said he could spend all day watching them. There were so many honey varieties to sample, so many products to buy. Very clean toilets. There was a candle making activity but we didn’t do it.

We loved Arataki Honey! They have about 10 different honeys to try, LOTS of wonderful New Zealand products, and a kids play area. I wish I’d bought more because we are loving everything we bought here!

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the entire shop is well set out and interesting but the bees were quite a unique experience. Delicious honey tasting, with flavours we had never heard of. I can thoroughly recommend the NZ flavours, Pohutukawa was a real favourite though the blue borage is ideal for glazing a ham! Always unique souvenirs too.

What an unexpected treasure this place is! We went to buy honey, and ended up spending time hunting for queen bees, learning how honey is processed, and tasting a variety of different honeys! Definitely worth a visit!

Having often previously bought our own jars to be filled with honey, we found the filling process much faster. Very efficient.
