Great tour of a small coffee farm in Salento. Wonderful bilingual guide. Beautiful scenery. I learned a lot and enjoyed the tour...and delicious coffee!

Highly recommend! Authentic family owned coffee finca

Wonderful authentic coffee finca tour in a small family owned farm. Jonathan gave a great informative tour in Spanish and English. Our kids loved the experience of picking their own berries. Grounds were gorgeous and we’d recommend to anyone who interested in a personalized experience. Coffee before and after the tour was fantastic as well!

A great insight

Jose was a great guide, very informative and witty. It was fascinating to see the hard work that goes into the process. And not to mention a great cup of coffee at the end of it! Would definitely recommend.

Local coffee tour

Really enjoyed this tour only 12COP and worth it. Christian was a great guide and spoke English very well. Was nice to visit a local family owned Farm. I would recommend this tour. We walked from town about 2 miles (downhill) and took a Willy back into town. Tour is only about an hour. A good find!

Interesting tour

This tour has been recommended in out hostel and also by a traveller we have met in Medellín. We wanted to make the tour in spanish and after the arrival from Salento, we had to wait for the tour! They have offered us a good coffee and we have enjoyed watching the birds, chickens and the roosters! Jose our guide did an excellent job! Also the group with 4 people was ideal! He explained it very well, but also the other fruits and flowers they were growing! The picking of the coffee fruits was a good experience. The process was presented in a very good and explaining way. The good coffee at the end of the tour we have enjoyed even more than before! Now, as we know, what hard work and what long period it takes for having a cup of coffee.
Thanks a lot!

Below expectations, only 20 minutes

We decided to go to this farm instead of the one we had planned to go, given that Las Acacias is less touristy and very informative. The guide spoke very good English but he wasn't really "into" it - he explained everything very quickly and this gave us an impression that he just wanted to be over and the tour took really only 20 minutes. We did drink coffee there but we weren't even told what kind of a roasting it was. I know it wasn't a tasting tour but here you only see the plants but learn very little about the coffee itself. After the tour, when we were drinking our coffee there, I asked questions regarding the roasting process and if they have different types of coffee. He answered me "we only have this" looking only on his phone and showing no interest to my question. Going back to Salento was also a big hassle as there was no jeep driving back for almost an hour although the guide told us that there will be one in 5 min. All in all, it was disappointing. I recommend you to go a few hundered meters further and visit a more worthy farm.

Dissapointing

After reading all the good reviews my friend and I decided to take this tour, we had to drive quite a while to get there and it wasn’t what we expected. The guide seemed to be in a hurry, he did ask if we had questions and explained the process but it just seemed he wanted to be through with it as soon as possible. He had very good english though, but we just felt disappointed after that long drive.

Great hospitality, very informative tour

Highly recommended excursion. We booked the tour and transport from the jeeps office on Salento main square. English spoken visit was very informative and interactive, and took us around the domain about 1 hour. Some nice views and we had the possibility to hand pick coffee beans ourselves. And... they are obviously serving awesome coffee (and cake) before and after the visit. Loved it, thank you!

Fantastic tour

Was suggested this one from the hostel, as it’s a family run one. Christian was my guide and his English was excellent. He had an extensive knowledge of the process of coffee growing and was happy to answer my questions at any moment. I caught a Jeep from the town square which was also a lot of fun. Would strongly suggest this to anyone traveling to Salento as it gives great insight into the coffee industry in Colombia.

Came here today for a coffee tour and had a very great time on the farm. We had a tour with only us two and got great information on the farm, it’s products, coffee and difficulties of local farmers vs. export enterprises. They guys were super nice, perfect English and very knowledgeable. Took some packages home as well.
