We visited raysgill fishing lakes during our stay at the lakeside hideaway at the beginning of August. We booked this via Air b n b and absolutely loved the place. Amanda and her partner who host this were nothing but polite, helpful and welcoming our full stay. It was the perfect retreat from a maxd lockdown world, complete with kettle, toaster, fridge, teas/coffees etc. Stove kept the place very warm and cosy. Spotlessly clean and nothing was a problem. It is a dead zone unless your connected to the bar WiFi but it was a great retreat and even nicer views. We loved having coffees on the front. Also a bbq/fire pit at hand. Toilets are a 2 minute walk. Bargain break, would highly recommend and return!Grab your breakfast sandwiches on a weekend in the bar, delicious!

Just had two nights here with our dog. Perfect peaceful get away. Hubby fished the Fly lake and the coarse lake, both with success. The Hideaway itself is so cosy, especially with the log burner lit. Lovely little homely touches made it even nicer. Can't wait to return.

We went to do the nature trail: after arriving and beginning the trail we were told by a very rude man that it was closed and that it was for anglers only. Perhaps this would be clearer if the signs on the way in were updated!

Thankyou for taking the time to review Raygill. We are not a FREE adventure park, we are a family run PRIVATE business and we charge for the walk. Had you come to the lodge first to BOOK IN Im sure your experience would have been better. There are plenty of signs here and you obviously missed the ones telling you very clearly to book in at the fishery lodge and that Raygill is private (no trespassing). Had you followed instructions given on the signs maybe the owner would not have been so rude to you. Apologies.

Take a leasurley walk around an old quarry filled with fishing lakes , the waters are now full of various types of fish including various types of trout ! It's just wonderful to see the fish springing out of the water before going back into the depths , brilliant day out before going back to the Lakesside cafe for refreshments! If you like open spaces in a lovely setting this really is a gem !
