Manglajodi is a village located in the northern banks of Chilka Lake in Odisha. More than 3,00,000 birds take shelter in its marshy waters, especially in winters. Mangalajodi is located on the northern banks of Chilika Lake in Orissa.this is one of the most perfect places to catch all sorts of migratory birds. It is a place of paradise for bird watching and photography.

We travelled by car from Puri...it is quite a way,but a beautiful drive through countryside and small villages. We arrived at the eco Tourism Cottages. They were very basic,but clean. Orissa itself Nature's own versatile core where can get lagoons to oceanic pamper, trumpet to whistle, mythological spirit to ecological diversity,virgin land to serene enclave...MANGLAGURI is one of the best part of it.

It's a feast to eyes for birdwatchers, mostly aquatic. For migratory bird visit only in Nov to Feb.Marsh is bit smelly. Migratory birds flock here in winter . Some rare species are seen here . Local people arrange good birding trips at reasonable rates .

Visited this place on January. This place surely a paradise for bird lovers. You can find thousands of migratory birds closed enough to captured it in your camera. One will really enjoy the 3 hour boat journey here. The peak period is November and December. During these months the number of birds are at peak and the numbers gradually decrease... More
