One of the world smallest active volcano. Recommended by some local friends. One hour and half driving from Manila (3000PHP), 45 min boating to the south part of the volcano (3000PHP), 30min trekking to the view point, and another 30min trekking to get to the crater lake. They call it "the secret path". Some of places are active, white smoke... More

We were on our way to visit Our Lady of Caysasay in Taal. There are of course two Taals in the area- one with the shrine and one with the volcano. Our driver thought we were going to the volcano, so we went that route. It is very scenic seeing it from the hills above the lake. Our route took... More

enjoy the view of the Taal Volcano. Get a clear view of the volcano in the middle of the lake.Taal caused one of the worst volcanic disaster in history: its eruption in 1911 1334 people were killed and caused ash fall as far as Manila city. Due to its devastating potential, Taal was declared one of the "Decade Volcanoes" in... More

We did a day trip from Manila, but the most expensive part of our day was the boat trip across Lake Taal and the horse ride up to the top of the volcano. The boat trip was nice - you get a great view of the lake, fisheries and villages. Once you reach the island, you are put on a... More

This place is reachable by public transport, bus from Manila to Tagaytay then we took a jeepney from the Tagaytay town went up to Tagaytay hill where we had a clear view of the volcano in the middle of the lake. A cooler place to... More

A nice experience but be ready when you cross the lake. A lot of water. Try to find the appropriate provider to avoid a bad experience

Great photo opportunities. I enjoyed this site very much. The views of the island are marvelous from most lookouts. This is a good must see. It is relatively close to Manila.

If you've made your way to Tagaytay you really have to do the trip across the lake to the Taal Volcano and the trek. We paid a bit more but got a guide, boat to ourselves, horse trek, and face mask / hat etc. It is a super dusty trek up the hill and you may as well take the... More

We were fortunate enough to be seated at Balay Dako restaurant which overlooks Taal Lake and directly at one of the small volcano crater(understand the whole lake is the crater). The scenic view and the cool breeze make you feel you are miles away from the horrendous traffic enroute to Tagaytay.
