We booked out DWS trip with the Tonsai Basecamp. The experience was great and a lot of fun, and the provided lunch at a nearby beach was good as well. It might be more catered though for people who normaly don't bolder or DWS, we boulder a bit and have done some DWS previously and the trip did not meet... More

Stayed here a couple of months ago - kind of what you expect from a bungalow in the jungalow, spiders, geckos, touckays, it's all happening here. Decent price for a room, and service at front desk is good.

I want to give this place a fair review as the owner was nice, the rooftop cafe was brilliant (staff also) however the main gentleman on reception was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The bungalows are spacious however there were numerous droppings of faeces on the mosquito net on arrival. If you're in Tonsai to party every night then the bungalows... More

Tonsai is a city (town) that among many things houses and is suitable for all ages from rock climbing, wonderful hikes, or a simple walk, in the new section, in which a beautiful sculpture immortalizes the place ,

I´m an experienst climber and I went climbing with Baecamp in November 2016. The equipment looked much better then the one from nearby Rock Shop and I felt more comfortable climbing with them. The easy walls for beginners are only on Railay Beach so you have to walk ~30min from Tonsai to the climbing spots.

Went DWS with Basecamp Tonsai in July 2016. First morning we tried but there weren't enough people, so keep in mind that you need at least 5 people to go. We convinced 4 people we met on the beach that day to come with us the next morning, so at 9:30 we hit the boat and went out to the... More

The title says it, we went climbing and had a blast, very friendly instructors who took us to some excellent climbing spots.

I agree with some of the posts about the frustration of the Shut down of Deep Water Solo climbing which is what attracted us to TonSai and Railay Beach Thailand for our vacation. The owner of TonSai Base camp was very forthright in her emails with us about the government shutting down DWS permits for the time being for a... More

A shop and a sport office where you can rent climbing stuff, buy it or to sign up for climbing course. Stuff is very motivated and motivating. Also there you can buy guidebooks and T-Shirts symbols of Tonsai and Tinatium project

It's no longer possible to do DWS in Tonsai! Crew from Basecamp didn't bother to tell me about it when I asked and they tried to make me pay for accommodation first. Overall they obviously didn't care about gaining customers. Deep water solo was my only reason to go there and there is no information on the website that they... More
