Too noisy die to the amounts of boat coming back and for. The beach is clean enough. The water is not as cristal as expected but suitable for swimming. Good area for kayaking. Safe place for families or friends. I suggest not to go to...More

Railay Beach has much going on. Some part of it draw large crowds and are quite lively with shops and restaurants along the streets. Other parts are largely devoid of this and are more peaceful. The beaches draw reasonable crowds, but are quite beautiful and...More

This is a magnificent beach but if you are looking for quiet and relaxing stay on the beach this is the last place you want to visit. The noise from the long tail boats bringing and collecting tourists is unbearable. They have VERY loud engines...More

I can't recommend this place highly enough. The beach is clean and not crowded (well when I visited it wasn't) and the islands close by are spectacular. A MUST if you travel to Thailand!

This beach is everything you would associate with a Thai island postcard image. The limestone karsts that Krabi is well known tower of each end of the beach and offer amazing scenery. The only downside is if you do choose to go at peak times...More

It’s great but you must proceed with caution if you are exploring around the island. They have wild monkeys that will rob you. Especially the fat one!!!! The beach is stunning and the massages are a bit pricier than on the mainland. Paid 50baht to...More

We went on the evening. It was a bit crowded but there's also some spots that you can relax not too close to people. Sunset was beautiful. Probably recommend for evening if you want to just chill by the beach.

Check with the the people handling the boats.
We are going to Thailand the first two weeks of December. We plan to be on the beaches the first week. I can't decide which island, most the information I found is dated. I am debating between Railay, Phuket, or Koh Lanta. I'm afraid Phuket is going to be way too busy. Is Railay also? The things that I want are to be able to look out to the cliff rock formations, teal water, decent snorkeling, and hopefully the least amount of people. Obviously, there will be people, but I want some space and not jammed packed and loud. We would also prefer cheaper but still relatively nice accommodations. It will just be my husband and I, we are young 30s. We don't care about shopping and don't need fancy food options. Mostly just hanging on the beach, snorkeling, kayaking, and exploring a little. Thank you for the help!

Phuket is very very crowded. The tourist beach area is almost a bit like Bangkok. Railay is not crowded at all but you can only access it with those dodgy longboats. They Cost money and can be quite annoying as not all... More
