We bought sandwiches at Brigus Mercantile and came here to have lunch. We stayed for 3 hours! A minke whale entertained us just off shore for an hour and a half. We also saw 3 minks! Beautiful rugged shoreline with crystal clear water. We had a very calm, sunny day. You'll need 4WD to get to the lighthouse. Gravel road full of potholes but worth it when you get there.

We were staying at Hannan house and happened upon this sweet scene. There is a good road to get right to it and a nice little education pavilion for the site. It is well maintained and accessible. Picture perfect piece of Atlantic Canada. Perfect spot to bring a lovely picnic from Powells or Madrock. The views go in all directions and there is plenty of cleared grassy areas for pictures and a nice picnic. We didn't hike around but you could also make a nice hike of it. It looks like the lighthouse is well maintained. Overall lovely sight to see. No admission fee.

The smallest lighthouse we saw on our trip, Green Point is a different lighthouse and grounds than anything we had seen previously.

There was a little walk on pebbles to get down to the lighthouse itself and on the way, there are seating areas to eat and relax, with wonderful views of the coast.

The day we went was super-windy, but comfortable and fun. Not too bad a drive to get there either, so it will at least be a bit more-accessible than Hant's Harbour or Cape Race.

The Green Point lighthouse is not one of the more picturesque lighthouses in Newfoundland. It's an unmanned, steel cylinder with a light on top. However, the walk to see it is fairly easy, when the weather is nice. It can really blow a gale out there, so you want to go on a calm day.

Access is via a rough path, that starts at the end of Lighthouse Road. Lighthouse Road has no signs, so to find it, you need to go to Port De Grave, and turn left off the main road at the anchor and canon monument, right by the harbour in Port de Grave. Continue onto the gravel road around the big rock hill and out past a few houses along the gravel road. This gravel road is Lighthouse Road. At the end, there is a rough path that continues out along the peninsula. You will have to walk at this point, unless you are on an all terrain vehicle like a quad.

The best thing to see along the way is the stunning scenery across Bay Roberts and out into Conception Bay. It's a lovely way to get a little exercise, and a lovely place to sit and look out at the ocean. In season, you might even find a few wild berries, if you look in the right places.

Loved watching the huge waves crashing on the rocks and the sun glistening on the waves. If it wasn't for a couple of ATVs, we felt like we were on a secluded island. We walked along the shore and up the hill enjoying the exercise and the beautiful 360 degree views. The lighthouse was much shorter than we thought it would be.

Pretty hike along 4 wheel drive path. Nice and easy. Watch fishing trollers pass by with rolling green hills (in the summer at least)

Beautiful view. We came here a couple times to watch the water and pure tranquility. Picnic tables are available to sit or have a snack. You can walk along the lighthouse and rock hills

This is beautiful location for viewing the ocean. Construction of a new park is being completed and it is a perfect spot for a picnic and seeing the fishing boats out on the water
