We visited when it was quiet and facilities shut but had a good half hour looking at the bridges and it is a good spot for this.
Free parking, at least it was when we went

Well known to locals this viewpoint has been around for years .With interest in the New Road Bridge it is getting better known to tourists as well . There is approximately 10 car spaces and a viewpoint sign to tell you what you can see.The Dockyard is directly across and parts of the 2nd new carrier can be seen as well as cruise ships docked at Rosyth Terminal . You can see Dunfermline ,the Ochils and the Lomonds

There must be a number of places to view the bridges, judging by the reviews here, but my review is based on the view from South Queensferry. Specifically, the spot on Google Maps called “Forth Bridges Viewpoint”.
We took the #43 bus from Princes Street in Edinburgh for a scenic half hour trip to quaint South Queensferry. The bus stop, outside the police station is just a few metres walk down to the little harbour and those magnificent views. You can hear the road traffic as well as the trains.
A top spot to view the three bridges.

We made a stop here today before heading over to West Lothian.
There is not space for a lot of cars, probably around 7 or 8, as it is only a lay-by.
The viewpoint was busy with people taking photographs. Probably busier than usual with the walk taking place today over the new Queensferry Crossing, before its official opening next week.
Yes it is a viewpoint, but the bridges are still a good distance away. If you want to get close up views and photographs of the bridges then I doubt if this is really the best place.
There is an information board which points out towns and attractions which can be seen from this location.

A good spot to pull in off the busy road and take in the view of all three bridges I’ve the River Forth. The view is somewhat spoiled by the factory in the foreground but nonetheless a great place to view the bridges from. There are only a few parking spaces and it can be popular with coach tours as a stopping off point

Wonderful view of the three bridges especially on clear days the new or 3rd bridge looks quite spectacular when sun us shining it looks like 3 very large white sails with the road bridge behind it and the world heritage Forth Rail Bridge in the background. Looking over the the river Forth there are wonderful views too of Fife and the hills beyond. The viewing place is not very big and has only room for about 6 cars which is pity as the view is spectacular

This place was not easy to find, but the views of the three Forth Bridges were really wonderful. It is well worth searching out and taking the camera with you

Working in Newton, driving on the main road coming from the bridges i always enjoy to stop and take a picture or just look at the landscape. It's a beautiful view of the bridges from that point. In a sunny day you can take beautiful pictures and see Rosyth and the port of Rosyth across the sea. It worths a stop!!!
