Great for bathing or just sitting around soaking in the sun with a cool drink with friends. It a beach to enjoy.

Unfortunately while we were in St Martin for our 12 day stay, this beach was covered by a constant influx of seaweed. We ended up in Phillipsburg at the beach in town all the time. It was too bad as our hotel was situated right on Dawn Beach. We hope it's ok this year/

beach looked rough, not being taken care of. a lot of seaweed and chairs looked very old. due to excessive crap in water it made the ocean look black. didn't see anybody in the surf. shame, got engaged there years ago.

Beautiful beach with outstanding snorkling. Loads of tropical fish in the rocky part of the beach. The Westin is located at Dawn Beach actually the Westin has most of the beach front at Dawn Beach. Some travelers who were not staying at Dawn Beach rented a room for the day to use the facilities, enjoy the beach and the pool,... More

Beautiful resort!!! We had an excellent stay. The pool is amazing and the beach view is beautiful. There is a lot of seaweed in the water, but the resort cleaned a lot of it up from the sand every day. The spa was very relaxing and they didn't try to sell you products which a lot of resort spas do.... More

This beach was unusable the entire week we visited due to seaweed. They were constantly using frontloaders to clear it, but never made a dent. It was also smelly.

Visited Dawn beach on July 20, 2015 The big Westin resort is there. Nice sand, but tons of seaweed. Water is choppier and not as Caribbean aqua blue as other beaches as it faces the Atlantic side. St. Bart's off shore is a neat site. Wouldn't stay here though. Westin is stupidly over priced. (I checked their prices on line.)... More

The beach view is very pretty, but the amount of seaweed was unruly, despite the efforts of the Westin staff to clear it out. The waters have a strong undertow and not safe for children to play near the shore. I suppose that comes with the territory as it faces the open waters of the Atlantic. The Westin Dawn Hotel... safe area surrounded by security guards, beautifully decorated environment around the hotels and the beach, enough benches available for the visitors, big enough where there are sides for families, bars and restaurants but also nice and quite spots. You can watch big Iguana's just before the beaches and more, definitely one of my favorite spots on the island :)

We were on a timeshare preview at the Westin and loved THAT facility. Unfortunately there was a stiff onshore breeze and there was a five foot wide by one foot high barrier of seaweed blocking access to the water. We were advised that that occurrence was rare...... having read the other ratings I must say, "Nay! Nay!"
