    Beautiful quiet beach
Lovely quiet beach. It’s a 20 minute pleasant hike. Bring chairs, umbrella etc. safe for swimming. There is a beach shack, selling beer, and apparently food, although that needs to be preordered somehow Clothing optional There will be a music festival there in March.

    Idyllic
Most idyllic beach that we experienced on St. Martin. They were setting up for a music festival that was starting, however from what I've heard, it is typically a private and secluded beach. The hike to the beach was only about 10-15 minutes and 100% worth it.

    Great Beach!
Our favorite beach is St. Martin. Great for naturist families. About half of the people on the beach are nude. Its a nice hike over the hill from friars bay. The beach is a very beautiful beach. During our stay there were young to old enjoying the beach without clothing so if this offends you or you dont want your kids to see other people nude there are many other beaches for you to enjoy in St. Martin. For those who are secure in their skin this is a must go to beach.... Bring water and shade with you!

    Beautiful
Beautiful secluded beach worth the 20 minute hike. There are no services there and it is a nude beach. Park at Friar’s Bay Beach and go to the far right (as you look towards the water) to find the trail.

    Worth the short hike!
It’s a quick easy hike along a narrow (sometimes rocky) path. Maybe 10-15 minutes. The path starts at the far right side of the parking lot to Friar’s Beach Club. Happy Bay Beach is a beautiful small clean uninhabited beach! Definitely worth the short hike to get there! (no naked people there today!)

    Nice secluded beach
About a 20 to 25 minute walk. Find the closed gate with happy bay spray painted on it, walk around the gate and up the paved road. When the pavement turns right. Continues straight on the dirt road down to the beach. No chairs or umbrellas available to rent. There was a small bar with good rum drinks. Cash. Total nudity seemed acceptable. Mix of families, couples and boats anchored off the beach. Easy access to the water. Make sure to take your own water, towels etc. Nice beach to visit. Worth the walk.

Happy Bay is a great place if you want to get away from the crowds (on the other side of the island) and yet still be able to dress/undress as you please. 🫣 I was last there in 2015

Happy Bay Beach is about 20 minutes by car from the Orient Beach area where my husband and I stayed. Nudity is commonly accepted on the beach. To reach the beach, use Google Maps to get to Friar’s Bay Beach. Do not put Happy Bay Beach into Google Maps because the route traverses a private road that you won’t be able to get through. At Friar’s Bay Beach walk past the two beachside cafes and take the path at the far right end of the beach up and over a hill to get to Happy Bay Beach. It’s a 10-15 minute walk. Footwear is required, as the path is rocky

The beach is about a quarter mile long and not widely used. There were only 15-20 groups of people using it on each of the three days we spent there. About half the people wore swimsuits, and half were nude. A few boats with nude people were anchored nearby in the bay.

There’s a snack bar, Danny’s Chicken and Rib Dinners, open during mid-day, but there are no umbrellas or lounge chairs for rent. My husband and I (in our mid-thirties) bought a beach umbrella at the Ace Mega Center in Cole Bay on the Dutch side (beach paraphernalia are on the second floor; prices are listed in US dollars) and laid our towels on the sand.

There’s a resort somewhere up behind the beach that is constructing some structures immediately behind the beach. That seems to be where the people wearing swimsuits came from. Not to worry: There’s no such thing as a private beach on Saint Martin; all beaches are public.

There was a nice breeze, and the water was clear, warm, and seaweed-free. There is some ledge/lava along the shoreline, so you have to be careful to find a good spot to enter the water.

The far left end of the beach has huge boulders creating a visual barrier to the rest of the beach and thereby providing a place for amorous activity, if so inclined. We fully enjoyed each other’s company each day we were there – careful not to be seen by anyone who could be less open-minded.

Happy Bay Beach requires some effort to reach, but the scenery is gorgeous, the vibe is laid-back, and no one cares a whit about those cavorting in the nude – although you don’t even have to cavort to enjoy the benefits!

After a brief 10mins walk from Friar's Bay along a well-travelled path, Happy Bay Beach is at your feet. There are no services at this beach however it frequented by a variety of guests. There are couples, solos and groups of 5+ with music enjoying the private & rustic surroundings.

The beach is large enough to accommodate everyone from the party-goers to the nude bathers without infringing on anyone's enjoyment.

The entry to the ocean is a little rocky however manageable. As always, be wary of surf and rocks & enjoy.
