I went with my daughter and two year old twins. There was lots to do and see. From stroking rabbits and guinea pigs to chicken and goats. There are lots of play areas . There is a large cafeteria. A great day out and under 3's are free.

We visited the rare breeds centre today with our 15 month old daughter. We had such a lovely day. She loved touching the animals. The centre is well organised and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Lots of outdoor exploring to be done. There are lovely outdoor walks, picnic areas and parks. We also discovered a sensory area with... More

My husband bought me a falconry day for my birthday. We spent the day with Colin, the falconer who explained how they work with the birds to keep them healthy and how they train the birds to fly to the glove. I was then given a tour of the different birds and were able to hold a kestrel, barn owl,... More

Had a wonderful visit to the rare breeds centre today. Had lots of access to all sorts of animals, with plenty of hands on opportunities. Particularly loved Toby the shire horse and the bunnies! Saw the pig racing which was a good bit of fun. The falconry display was really interesting to watch. Restaurant was ok but would recommend a... More

My kids absolutely love the Rare Breeds Centre. They have a lovely selection of animals, with a chance to meet the animals up close. There are great tractor trailer rides and a fab adventure trail for the bigger kids. It also has a few play park areas, some very creatively designed, and aimed at different ages. At the end of... After friends and trip advisor recommended this placer were a little disappointed in some ways. Even though it was not the school holidays it was busy with young families enjoying the sunshine. Unfortunately only the main restaurant was open which is outside the rare breeds centre. This was not made clear when we arrived. We had intended to buy lunch... More

Thanks for taking the time to review your visit to us, and I'm sorry to read you were disappointed. We always try and open the food cabin and trailer at half-term and during peak season, but we are not currently able to do so during the quieter periods. We are however looking at how we might be able to extend... More

Fantastic day out for under 8s - our two (3 and 6) are already demanding to know when we will be back. Pig racing was ridiculous and hilarious, falconry display one of the favourites for our family. Over May bank holiday the Bluebells on the Red walking trail were absolutely stunning.

Had never been here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not only do they have animals for everyone to see but a garden shop, lovely spacious food hall with outdoor facilities. Then tractor rides, birds of prey flying, pig racing and parks for different aged children. Food was good and well priced, bought planter and plants on way home, enjoyed being... More

I go here regularly throughout the year. I have a 1 and 6 year old. There is plenty to do and can easily spend a day here. There are is walks, numerous play parks and animals. It great value for money and worth the value. I sometimes use the bus to get there, which stops outside.
