My husband and I stayed at the nearby center parcs this week and as the zoo is close by, we visited it on our way home. We booked our tickets in advance online which saved us money. We arrived when the zoo opened, which is a good idea as we were able to look around quite a few areas without... More

Decided to take the grandchildren out for the day and, being fairly local, Banham fitted the bill perfectly as it was the first Saturday with promising spring weather. Quite a difficult place to find, off the beaten track but signed for most of the route. We knew it would be quite expensive, having looked online the previous evening but reasoned... More

As animal lovers we always try to visit zoos when we can and we fell in love with this one. The animals seem healthy and we'll looked after. It's not huge and the prices are pretty good. Keepers and trainers happy to talk to you. Highly recommended

Just visited and found it an interesting 3 hours. Some parts closed due to Avian Bird Flu but was told this on entry and it is out of the zoos control. Animals seemed content and well lookrd after, most had large areas to move around in. Staff friendly and happy to answer questions. Layout seemed sensible and could walk round... More

OK, compared to Colchester Zoo which is nearer me, Banham Zoo doesn't have as many animals or facilities. But I liked the layout here, with more space and not so cluttered, and in a rural Norfolk setting. There is still a good range of animals to see. And the bigger animals did seem to have large enclosures. The place was... More

We were staying nearby and our children were very keen to go to the zoo. Unfortunately it was disappointing due to the fact that quite a few parts were unavailable my daughter really wanted to see the Penguins but due to the avian flu outbreak all the birds were shut up or removed e.g the Emus, Penguins, Flamingos etc and... Thank you for posting your review. Can I start by clarifying one thing. The avian flu outbreak happened just under 10km away at Redgrave. There isn't nor has been an outbreak at Banham Zoo. That said, as the zoo falls within the surveillance zone we were required to put in place preventative measures to protect our birds. Notices regarding this... More

Automatically charged child price for a baby - until we queried it. Automatically charged full price for an obviously elderly person - until we queried it. Then had the nerve to ask for an additional donation!! It was wet and the internal play area for children was a mess - could have been a lot better. Some attractions and restaurant... More

Thank you for your post. I am sorry that you feel disappointed by your visit. Without knowing exactly what happened it is hard to respond in full however we wont always assume anyone is entitled to concessionary rates. We have been burnt for assuming someone was a senior citizen and having to apologise before. The prices are right beside the... More

We visited early Feb and had clubcard vouchers for entry which I am glad that we did otherwise I would say it is very overpriced in comparison to other Zoos such as Whipsnade and Colchester which are full days out and although are more expensive there is so much more to see and do, however I have still rated it... Very clean zoo, and very well maintained! Lovely day out, and a very fair price. Like that the entry tickets include a voluntary donation to animal causes... would go back!

my company took all of their employees and their families on a twighlight tour at Banham Zoo in the summer. it was a brilliant experience. We had 3 members of staff who walked us round the entire zoo talking to us with real passion about the animals that they care for. We were able to get a lot closer to... More
