The blue waters of the Caribbean, ample trees to spread out under, smaller waves to make swimming more enjoyable. These are some of the pluses, and you can add snorkeling opportunities, little competition for a spot from others make it a go to choice.

Captain Max from Blue Lagoon recommended we go here for dejuene after our boat trip. The beach is clean, with lots of available shade and a number of restaurants. The food ar Le Boobooj's was excellent. It was fun to sit under an awning and view the beach while we enjoyed our food.

Although smaller than its more famous neighbour Grande Anse, we preferred this beach. There are a number of restaurants towards one end near to parking. All have a good outlook on to the beach. We were not over keen on the one we tried ‘La Perle d’or’ but others seem to have good reviews. The beach slopes gently to the sea, making walking to the end very pleasurable. There are plenty of places to find shade and the beach seemed generally to be very clean. Parking is the only difficulty although we always managed to find space and there are other access points further down the beach away from the restaurants where parking can be found.

A very picturesque location.

Once you have found a spot to park, make sure you wear thongs on the beach as the sand is really hot.
Find a nice shady palm and have a great view up and down the coast.
The waves can be quite strong and can dump
You. So be careful.
We found the Inspector’s ‘shack’ it was in need of serious renovation or demolishing. Fun to see though, the Forrest was right around it.

Great beach to relax. This beach isn't very crowded, restaurants are all right on the beach (very nice), and it is a very laid back experience. Clean, beautiful, and relaxing.

An absolutely beautiful beach with soft sand and views over to Monserrat that is essentially deserted. Used frequently for filming the British detective show, “Death in Paradise.” If you are near this beach on Guadeloupe, it doesn’t get much better!

On our wonderful adventures touring the northern tip of basse terre we stopped off at plage de Grand Anse for the morning for mostly lounging, taking pictures and eating and drinking...but most of the swimming that day happened just down the road here. Nobody at the beach on a Monday morning and we. Went to the end were the rocks were and had our day. Its a safe beach with calmer water than Grand Anse due to little breaks and tows so it's wonderful for little ones, great snorkeling and also has a natural pool over at the end where we were. Amazing and one of my favs 4 sure.

Most beautiful beach. A tropical picture perfect setting. It is the location of 'The Shack' from the BBC tv-series 'Death in Paradise'. The shack can be found on the beach when they are shooting the episodes. Plage de la Perle is a stunning piece of paradise. There are a few restaurant on the beach, like Madras 2

Says it all in the title really, Plage de la Perle is a beautiful location, with a pretty backdrop, good snorkelling on its northern (right-hand) side, and smaller crowds than the ultra-famous, nearby Grande Anse. I’d argue it’s even better as a beach, as there’s more space to lay out on the sand! We had the most amazing sunsets there when we stayed in Basse-Terre.

Wonderful sweep of deep sand towards Rifflet, some shade from palms and grape trees. Spectacular views across turquoise seas to Turtle island. Arrive early - or parking a pain in butt! Good selection of rather pricey beach bars and restaurants - as it’s a cool hang out!
Often has a big swell with a wicked undertow - don’t say goodbye to your kids 😧! Swimming ok once out a bit but usually near zero visibility - as sand is well stirred up - 🤿 👎!
