Another beautiful, colonial style church that is worth taking a stroll through. We couldn't go inside while we were there due to a service being held. We were able to peer into the open front doors and see the statue of the black Jesus that the church is famous for. It is right beside the Parque Central which is fairly shady and contains a few vendors to grab a snack or drink from. The park has free wifi so it's good to spend a little time at and catch up on things. We found that in general, there is very little else to do in Masatepe, so this appears to be the best.…

Didn't spend much time here but the inside was lovely with a black Jesus and loads of statues. Right near the square in town.

The church itself isn't grand nor highly detailed. It's a colonial style colors and architecture are nice for a few photos. The Central park in front of the church is where everything happens though, especially if you find yourself there during the annual Saint celebrations. Food, drinks, music, and during this event, tons of beautiful horses parading around. Interesting how many churches launch fireworks to tell churchgoers it's THAT time, starting at 6AM and going throughout various times of the day.…

This bright yellow church is one of the few attractions in Masatepe. It's located across the park, in the main street. It's colonial style architecture. And this church is home to El Cristo Negro de La Santissima Trindade. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to see the interiors because the church was closed during our visit.…
