You have to really want to go here: first a ferry from Newfoundland across the Straits of Belle Isle, then a 2-3 hour drive through beautiful, but desolate coastline and interior to Red bay, then a small "fishing" boat an hour away and you will...More

If you just want to spend the day here, it is worth a visit. But if you are lucky enough to stay for a couple of days, that is even better. It is a very unique experience and well worth it

Our visit was worth every mile of travel on a plane, ferry, gravel road, and boat ride to this beautiful place. The staff are wonderful, especially Peter "The Problem Solver". The food is delicious and beautifully presented, and the accommodation is divine with attention to...More

I had planed only a day visit. When I wanted to book it, the girl told me that an overnight stay would be better because I could see so much more of the Island. So I went for one night. It turned into six. Just...More

One of a kind experience. Historic area with nearly intact buildings and sites of a former cod/seal fishing community. Great accommodations - completely modern and very comfortable. Meals are wonderful. Very much worth the effort to get here (good gravel road from Red Bay on...More

We booked a 2 day trip to this site and it was fantastic. The boat ride from Mary's Harbour was a bit rough on the way over but as it's only 25 minutes even weak stomachs could handle it. The return trip was on very...More

Yes it is. You have to make advance arrangement as you get there by boat. It is really interesting and worth going to. You do know that you are on gravel roads from Red Bay on. You also can get there by seaplane.
