Visitors are invited to spend the day at Ampleforth and enjoy the facilities that we offer including a tea room with a fantastic selection of food and beverages, the Abbey gift shop which stocks everything from keyrings to our own cider and our state-of-the-art Visitor centre, providing a comprehensive insight into the history of Ampleforth. Admission to the Abbey and Grounds is free but we do welcome donations to support the work of the Abbey and the Benedictine Community.

We have called at this Restaurant twice for afternoon tea and found it to be not only the best value around, but a lovely selection of sandwiches and delicious cakes served by welcoming efficient staff. The Abbey and College is in the most spectacular setting....More

This is a really interesting , calm and historical place to visit. Visitors centre is informative and tea room is lovely. All free, donations are welcomed though.

Would recommend a visit if in the area. There is no cost and completely free. The volunteer in the visitor centre was extremely welcoming and able to answer any questions. The visitor centre is a real source of information about the site and the area....More

The visitor centre, the tea rooms, the crypt, the grounds in fact every part of the estate is worth visiting. A truly beautiful and calm place to go. It's history is very interesting. It's cider brandy is amazing. We will return to explore the walks...More

A very historic site. Wonderful buildings in superb grounds. The main chapel is magnificent. A great place for food and gifts as well.

everyone i met is friendly and welcoming. the view is beautiful. enjoy so much the Divine Office and daily mass at the Abbey Church, solemn and holy.
