This is a national park, close to amusementparc de Efteling and the cities Tilburg and 's Hertogenbosch/Den Bosch. This park is like a desert, surrounded by a small forest. There are 6 main entries, and at each entry there's a restaurant and lots of parkingspace available. The "duinen" (in English it's called dunes) is a great area to walk or cycle around (there is a special cycle path) and there are tracks for mountainbiking and horsebackriding. Children can build sandcastles or treehouses, and dogs love the area, because at certain places they can run around loose. It's sort of a beach without the sea! Also great for picknicking, sunbathing, children's parties, groupgames, etc. A real popular NP in our province!

Nice experience

Really good place between Tilburg and Waalwijk. Pure sand and nature. Was little bit windy but beautiful.

This is one of the most beautiful national parks in Holland. It is wide and has beautiful, astonishing views. You can walk or bike for hours here. There are several routes set out which are easy to follow. At the entrances/exits of the park you will find enough restaurants. Dutch nature at its best. :)

Visited here with my disabled partner. Suitable for a wheel chair until you reach the sand. But we still managed to get a good view of the dunes whilst eating a picnic in the sun. Looks like a great place to bring a dog too. Would definitely come back

We went there on a walk with two dogs, two children, one toddler and a baby. The trail - also fit for free running dogs - was clearly marked through the dunes and saw horse riders and mountain bikers from a safe distance. We spent a pleasant hour there with the whole family.

Fascinating, a beach! This part of the netherlands used to be under the sea 10,000 years ago and is consequently a very sandy area full of pine trees with real sand dunes many miles from the sea. A really pleasent palce for a walk in the woods.

We had a lovely walk on a Sunday morning through the forest and across the dunes. I would imagine it gets very busy in warmer weather - cyclists, horses, runners. Finished off with a coffee in the cafe.

Sand dunes created by nature although no sea in neighbourhood,Beautiful to see it either walking or by bicycle or riding a horse. More than sufficient small and/or large hospitable paddocks, restaurants and bars. Amazing natural parc not far away from s'Hertogenbosch where you can visit the Jeroen Bosch exposition and enjoy the city itself.

you will experiencing being in a desert when walking acros the sand dunes and plains of this area. Surrounded by treelines and moors the main attraction are the sand plains where the wind moves the sand around. During summer is can be blazing hot when the sun is being reflected and you feel like boiling. There are a number of... More
