A whale swam under our boat!

A smaller boat than the other two major providers in Bay Bulls. But not as small as the rubber zodiacs. A perfect size because you can move around (unlike zodiacs) but with fewer... read more

A smaller boat than the other two major providers in Bay Bulls. But not as small as the rubber zodiacs. A perfect size because you can move around (unlike zodiacs) but with fewer people to bump into when trying for a good view of something. Plus, you get more interaction with the guide, who on our day was a very... More

One of three companies in the area. I would choose this one again. O'Briens (another company) is popular with tour companies so was much busier when we were there so I was glad we weren't crammed into one of their boats. Mullowney's has a great captain that gets you nice and close to the whales and close to the island... More

I wished to go out on one of the many advertised boat trips out of a number of ports in and around the St. John's area in order to look at the Puffins and watch for whales. You arrive at the location and you notice that you have a big player next to a small operator. Mullowney's was the small... More

The Puffin tour was fantastic. It was really personalized and the tour guide was really knowledgeable about the rock formations and the birds. She spent most of the trip talking with us and telling us all about what we were seeing. We say thousands of nesting birds and the captain put the ship really close to the islands so we... More

Two friends and I were travelling through NFLD and decided to take a tour with Mullowney's. They had come highly recommended and did not disappoint. We had booked a time but had to reschedule for the next day, which they accommodated without a fuss. The captain was knowledgeable and skilled at steering the ship as though it were a kayak.... Cutest bird in the world. We took this tour last time we were in Newfoundland and had a ball. The captain of the ship was a great entertainer and made the going and coming back so much fun. We did not see any whales but we did see a million puffins which was the point of the exercise. Truly enjoyed... More

An amazing tour with great people. I've been on both Mullowney's and O'Briens and by far prefer Mullowney's. Super friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. The family who own it are the definition of Newfoundland hospitality and friendliness. Would recommend to anyone. Choose Mullowney's. You won't be disappointed.

We originally intended to go on a tour with the much bigger company next door. However due to their confusing schedule structure we arrived 20 minutes late for the 11am boat. Luckily Mullowney's offered a much more convenient 12:00 noon take off time and saved the day. The boat was a perfect medium size and with only 2 other passengers... More

We had a wonderful boat cruise with Mullowney's family whale and Puffin tour son in law, Greg Snyder was friendly and knowledgeable as was the extremely knowledgeable young university student (whose father had been a tour guide all her life and taught her well) who told us so much about the whale we spent watching for 20 mins. and the... This boat tour was nothing short of fantastic! We were originally going to go on one of the really commercial charters next door, but ended up choosing this one, and it turned out to be the smart choice. I later noticed how overcrowded the other one was. If you want room to move and take photos, this is the best... More
