Lovely visit to this penguin colony which seems to be thriving. Good views all along the walkway and all four types of cormorants and other seabirds also visible from this walkway through the colony.

This is a great nesting area where visitors can see 100s if not 1000s of penguins. The area is quite substantial and some penguins are outside as well. Very cute.

Visited here on our way to Franschhoek from Hermanus - adds a bit of time but the penguins and the scenery are definitely worth the short detour. Loads of penguins within really close view. Also managed to spot some dassies and some colourful lizards. Speaking to people who had visited here and Boulders - Stony Point is said to be... More

We were in Betty's Bay on quite a windy day unfortunately, but we really liked Stony Point! We visited Boulders Beach before which is a different setting beach-wise, Stony Point shows around double the amount of penguins actually, cormorants, different gulls and we also saw some Dassies. The info boards along the walkway were interesting to read, to learn more... More

We stopped at Bettys Bay and loved seeing the tiny penguins. They were totally comfortable with our presence as they ambled at the edge of the waves, diving in every so often. The mothers were not as relaxed and shielded their nests in the bushes - turning their backs to us and even spreading their flippers to stop us looking... More

Two visits to Betty's Bay within a week should say it all. The African Penguins inhabit much of the rocky parts and some human areas too! The youngsters were moulting so they looked wonderfully scruffy and the adults were watching what was going on. Some penguins can be feisty so watch out! Conservationists have set up nesting places for the... More

You get close to the cutest penguins and there are many hyrax'es and birds. It a much cheaper than Boulders Beach and you get closer to the penguins.

It was a very windy day and we weren't sure if we would see any penguins... But they were all over. Really close to the boardwalk, on land and in the water. Wonderful experience to see adults and juveniles (shedding feathers). We didn't go into the area where you need to pay R20 pp. There were so many penguins even... More
