They belong to the most curious of Belgium. The visit begins in the two upper galleries of the caves. This one continues then in boat on the subterranean river. To finish the tour, an extraordinary show " sound and light " during which you can admire waterfalls, music of Vangélis, stroboscopic effects...

We went there with minimal expectations since we have seen caves before. This was a very unique experience. It consists of two parts. First is a guided walking tour into the caves that are lit strategically to highlight the various features. The tour is in French or Dutch. You can request an English translation of the tour commentary on laminated sheets that you can follow along. There is a small audio-visual show at the end of walking tour. Then the 2nd part of the tour begins with a walk deeper into the caves through a narrow and dimly lit and wet passageway. Some people may feel claustrophobic with the low ceilings. The walk leads to a boat tour on an underground river (very unique). You need to watch your heads as the boat pathways are through narrow openings in the caves. There is a fantastic and short light and sound program culminating in a waterfall at the end. The total tour (walking and boat ride) is slightly less than an hour. You can also do a self-guided trek in the hills on a well-marked trail which takes about 45min. Our entire family loved the experience. It is relatively inexpensive (8.50 Euro per adult). Well worth the visit.

We had reserved in advance and therefore expected more crowds. The tour lasts 45-60 minutes with a personal guide (perfectly bilingual Dutch French). There were 6 of us and another family of 4. This makes the tour so personal and much more beautiful. It's like getting a private tour from the otherwise very friendly guide who answers your questions. The explanation is in short pieces and with pictures. Also doable for children to keep their attention. In the cave, the guide uses a flashlight to illuminate everything that is being told at that moment. No overexposure out of respect for the natural process in the cave.
The tour on foot then continues with a boat trip through the narrow corridors, ending with a surprisingly beautiful light and sound show at the waterfall.
Can be combined with a walk nearby: these start in Nismes: Jardins d'O and fondry des Chiens

Very enjoyable visit with our Seniors Club on a very hot day! Our guide was a young girl who explained everything in detail and advised us repeatedly of the security rules to be taken. Our tour was in French which was the common language for our group but notices and guides are available in English. It is of course quite cold underground at 12 C degrees so wear suitable clothes and shoes. Some of the pathways slopped quite a bit and were slippery in parts with low ceilings too. At the end there is a 10-15 minute boat ride ending in a large cavern with an amazing light show. Afterwards there are 40 plus steps back out in to the daylight.
Well worth the 45 minute or so visit if you are in the area.
There is also a woodland walk in the area too and souvenirs/ refreshments are available at the entrance office.

Bravo to the team who knew how to highlight this site and who offer an attractive visit to the caves. Strolling through the corridors as well as the boat ride are pleasant. Then, the Fagnes brasserie is just a stone's throw away and is worth going there!

The tour itself is 45 minutes long, but very enjoyable. Very knowledgeable tour guide gave a lot of info about the cave. Half way through, after passing through a long low access path between two parts of the cave, you get into boats for the second part of the tour. This is when you get a second dramatic music an light show. Great! Boat tour only available when there is enough water in the river that flows through the cave, so may be an issue in the summer. Both children (8 and 13) thoroughly the tour. Afterwards we went for the walk above the cave that is all about the local trees. Also very enjoyable.

I came there mostly because part of the trip is on boats on a river in the caves. As it turned out on site there has been a long period (a few months) of drought and there was no river there. Obviously, it has nothing to do with the very competent staff working there who offer reduced prices and are kind enough to make guided tours in two languages for a very small group of people but with no river this place is not particularly interesting. It's better to go to the Grottes de Han (also no river but they are much bigger and spectacular).

Faced with a day of unrelenting drizzle we tried the Caves of Neptune on a whim and found it to be surprisingly good. Located just outside Couvin, the caves are staffed by multilingual and friendly staff who have prepared an educational walking trail (or if want to sit down whilst the kids burn off their lunch, a playground) to keep you busy whilst you await your one hour tour through the two caves that are linked by the ‘seven dwarves passage’. The tour itself taught me more about geology in 10 minutes than I ever managed in school, and the caves themselves are beautifully lit with haunting music to accompany your tour. The second cave is submerged and requires a ride in a boat which was the definite highlight of what was a fantastic and none-too-expensive tour. Only loses a star for the whiff of manure around the above-ground area, which the cave owners presumably can’t be blamed for!

We wanted a visit to caves, but found so much more. The boat trip inside the cave is a real adventure, and when the boat stops the light show and water fall is superb. The staff were so friendly and clearly very passionate about this wonderful place. We were not expecting an English speaking guide, but we were treated to an almost private tour as our guide took time to explain in great detail in French and English. A real 5 star trip. Thank you!

We had had a fabulous time here! They have a little shop where you can buy gifts or a cold drink. We had a fabulous guide who did our tour in both French and English. She was great! It's a rather small cave but you definitely get a great experience. It's absolutely beautiful inside! You walk through half of it and the last half you ride in a boat where you see a beautiful short light/water show. It was not crowded at all, the area was peaceful and hiking trails are around as well. There are semi steep areas and some steps inside the cave, you must duck pretty low on the boat in some areas and to get out, you walk up steep steps so, if you have issues with bending back over completely while sitting in boat or walking up steps, this may not be for you. The cave was a perfect cool temp for a hot muggy sprinkling day. It's the kind of cave that if you go once, that's all you need to go but still, it's worth the trip out. Along with the cave, drive a few KM's to Hitler's Bunker, Chimay and over to a fabulous little Elvis/RTE 66 bar/eatery. The area has so many things to do. I definitely suggest venturing out to this cave!

This is a very small cave but the guide and the atmosphere make it a pleasant way to spend some time.
The part on foot has some nice yet small caverns. The part on the boat, after a brief walk through a small, low, tunnel (not for those with claustrophobia) is nice. Some parts are very confined on the boat and the water light show at the end was nice for young kids. As adults we did not care for it much.
All in all a nice short visit especially when you have young kids.
