An excellent small museum housed in the actual control tower of the former Martlesham Heath airfield. Tells the story of the former "flyboys" of the station, both British and American.

An interesting and informative collection of artefacts from the time when the control tower was used by RAF and American Air bases which becomes a history of flight especially as the site was used for testing and developing planes. Two rooms of models, uniforms and...More

The people who have maintained this museum are passionate about keeping it. It is a special place where the exhibits are well laid out and although it is reasonably small there is lots packed into it. We could have spent most of the day here...More

Visited here as my father was at Martlesham Heath during 1940/41 Battle of Britian, lots of artifacts & info about RAF. All credit to the Aviation Society for keeping the memory of Martlesham Heath Airfield alive otherwise it would have been wiped away with all...More

Loads of model planes to interest my 8 year. Very enthusiastic volunteers. Worth a look if you are passing on a Sunday afternoon when it's open.

There is a huge amount of detail the presentation slides that was certainly oriented to WW2 Nerds. There is very little structure left of the Martlesham Heath Control Tower, but it does have a room full of wartime artifacts on the upper floor.

In association with 8th in the East the control tower had an organised meander through the former airfield site. The control tower was open and had various very knowledgable volunteers on hand throughout the afternoon. Very interesting exhibits covering both USAAF and RAF history and...More
