Great walk

Its pretty tiring. But worth it if you've some time to kill. Its basically over looking the bay, weather permitting you get a decent view as well

We hiked in the early morning and found ourselves quite alone in the beauty and wonder of the high bluff shoreline. We went all the way to the beach and were the only ones there for several hours. We body-surfed and sunbathed in total privacy.

Want a good workout with breathtaking views, then this is the place to go. We made it up and down in under two hours with lots of stops to enjoy the panorama views. Even on a windy day this is a good attraction. Wear sunscreen. It's spectacular.

Walked to the top. Some areas there where steps and other parts was just dirt trail. Beautiful views from all sides on the way up. Anybody can do it.

Loved our walk to the summit of Maunganui - which is a Maori nature reserve. The views of the beach and harbour is absolutely worth the walk to the top. One of the best walks we did in the Bay of Plenty, espeically if you are staying close by. There a couple of options of walking you can do, which... More

This walk up to the summit was well worth the effort. Easy walking, trainers were fine, and the path offered a moderate or difficult option partway up - we chose the moderate, it was fairly steep but fine underfoot. Would definitely recommend, the 360 views were stunning!
