You can't go in the lighthouse but the views are so spectacular you aren't missing anything. At low tide you can walk carefully around the rocks below the lighthouse (a sign and memorial plaque remind you not to take risks on the rocks when the...More

We visited the Lighthouse just after sunrise and enjoyed the silence as there was just the 2 of us around. Nice spot and the views are incredible.

Amazing place to visit. The walk up to the castlepoint light house is a must. The best views around. Even in winter we have amazing days. Rug up and keep warm and go exploring.

Very lovely especially in summer. The steps to the lighthouse is worth the view. You can go fishing and camping in the area. But just one thing though, poor toilet facilities!

Spectacular scenery . Good photo opportunities. May be hard to get to on high tide. If you like lighthouses you would not be disappointed.

A reasonably easy walk up to the lighthouse with stunning views. The visit I had was at sunrise watching the sun roll out over the settlement and the fishing boats leaving the beach - absolutely stunning and breath taking.

Go first to Masterton, by upper Hutt. Count three hours with short stops.
