Very family friendly hike. It is almost like a walk. Some areas on the way are wet and slippery, just be careful. There is not lot of sitting/relaxing area near the falls so avoid bringing picnic lunch or something.

My wife and I are are both 50 and in fairly good shape. We decided to take the longer Bemis trail to see a couple more water falls before joining back up on the Arethusa main trail. We had read other reviews saying it was...More

Coming from the point of three people over 60 years old, be prepared for a fairly steep climb with difficult roots and large steep stone and lot steps. A hiking pole is quite helpful. Allow a minimum of three hours round trip and don’t do...More

My husband and I hiked to Arethusa Falls (New Hampshire's talles waterfall) and thoroughly enjoyed the climb! It's rated "moderately difficult", and this is a fair description: there is about 1,350' vertical climb over the hike and it's over large/medium rocks and tree roots. The...More

We'll definitely spend more time in the White Mountains next time around after having an excellent afternoon hiking Arethusa Falls trail (about 3 hours back and forth; easier on the way down than up). We spent about an hour after reaching the falls enjoying our...More

Decent reward for very little effort to walk to these falls. Great to do on a hot day as well as the cool spray is refreshing.

We took the Arethusa trail (1.6 miles one-way), but skipped the Bemis Trail. It’s an uphill climb to the falls with lots of rocks and roots to navigate. Definitely wear sturdy shoes, pack water and a snack. Large parking area, but no facilities

Moderate hike to a stunning waterfall, about 3-4 miles round trip. Plenty of hikers of all levels, including small children. Well worth it for the views at the falls!

We aren't experienced hikers but had no trouble with this one. It's definitely a climb, not a walk, but easily doable and well worth it for the views. We went at a slow pace and took about 3 hours round trip. If you take the...More

3 mile out and back hike! This is a great hike to do on a rainy day. With so many gorgeous views on other hikes, this hike does not need a clear sky to enjoy the sights! Add the Bemis trail to this out/back hike....More

The drive isnt bad unless it is snowing while you are driving. If the roads don't have snow on them you should be fine. The falls start to freeze around now. But keep dripping and freezing more and more as the season goes... More
