Outside tasting during COVID. Picnic table and plastic glasses. Nice grounds and chickens running around. NICE Place. The wines were nice and tasting fees and the price of their wines were reasonable.

This is a nice little winery on the busy Closson Road.

The winemaker owner is a very friendly fellow making your stop here very pleasant.

The wines are quite typical County wines although he has changed things up a bit by making one of his reds with the Frontenac grape.

Small selection of whites and reds. Fun to see the sheep and chickens around the place.

Worth a stop.

I can't say enough amazing things about Gravel Hill Vineyards!

During my first visit to Gravel Hill, I brought home a bottle of Incite, Baco Noir for my husband and he loved it. So on our day trip to PEC, we had to stop at Gravel Hill. Chris was beyond accommodating, giving us details about the wines and the wine making process. The wines are excellent as well!

If you are in the area, don't miss Gravel Hill Vineyards! You won't regret it!

While I want more than anything to write a gleaming review of this winery I just want to be fair to fellow trip advisors.
This gentleman and his cute daughter run this small winery essentially by themselves. His passion for tending to the land is second to none.
That being said this winery needs time to mature and the wines need to be better to compete with the numerous others around.
I found the killdeer white to be the easiest to drink but the "Incite" red to be in all honesty not to any of our liking in our group.
I wish this family luck in the pursuit but I will wait till they can hone their skills.

It takes a long time for grape vines to begin yielding fruit good enough for wine. It's been just a couple of years since Kris Karja planted his vines. In the meantime, he buys Prince Edward and Niagara on the Lake grapes to hone his winemaking craft.

I was impressed with his 2016 Killdeer Vidal Blanc blended white. A steal at just $15.95 CAD. Some real potential at this place. Can't wait to see what Kris does in future years.

Nice fellow to chat with. He has an undeniable passion as a vintner and winemaker. Be sure to ask about his daughter's recent encounters with Prince Charles and Camilla on their sesquecentennial visit to Canada. Recommended.
