What a great way to spend a chilly but sunny day in March - sitting in front of firepit drinking delicious Chardonnay, eating warm olives, vegetarian lasagna, their own smoked trout, crusty bread and a lovely dessert. Paul was so welcoming, had us taste some wines before we chose the Chardonnay and kept the fire stoked as he chatted about the winery, wines and the area. A visit will now be an annual pilgrimage - makes winter in the County a civilized experience.

Had an absolutely fabulous lunch outside (yes on Dec 28th). My husband and I both enjoyed the Chardonnay and the best lasagna I’ve ever ordered. There are a few outdoor tables, a few fire pits, and 2 heated cabanas along with very friendly service. Put some heaters outside and we’ll be coming back all winter for that lasagna and adding a star.

Sat on the patio for a late lunch. Although they portray themselves as a restaurant in line with the farm-to-table ethos of the region, our experience did not live up to that expectation.
The food would be decent for a mid-bike-ride pizza stop, but it doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of a full meal. Menu options are limited and the food was a bit rough-and-ready.
The service left a lot to be desired. Not a single staff member was wearing their face mask properly - and some didn't have one at all.
Finally, the bathrooms don't seem to be maintained for customer use. To access them requires entering a staff galleyway, and the floors were slippery with mud.
From the other reviews, it seems like a good spot for a wine-tasting, but I wouldn't recommend staying for a full meal.

Loved the area, wine tasting and pizza. Great service and very friendly. I like that it is open all year round and that you can dine there.

We recently visited and had a great experience. The Pizza's are great and freshly made. We tried the wines as well which were great as well. I just wish they allowed one to order the wine samples as would reduce costs as each glass was approx $15.00

We did a wine tasting and Lou was our guide and he was amazing. He made the visit outstanding. His knowledge and story telling was intriguing. And he challenged our taste buds. Lunch was also awesome, all the staff work hard and are so pleasant. The setting is absolutely amazing. Will definitely return.

This was hands down our best experience at a PEC winery.
We got a warm welcome on arrival and enjoyed really educational tasting session with Lou. We all have a bit of experience with wine, but still left having learned a lot. Next time we will stay for oysters. Lovely experience overall.

Generally a nice setting amongst the vineyards although there are far too many tables to enjoy the view. If sitting outside, socially distanced, is what is wanted then mediocre food and acceptable but over priced wine shouldn’t dissuade you. The trout is delicious and the pizzas acceptable but undercooked. Our casual server informed us that they are unable to sell wine by the bottle and so one can order overpriced and fine wine by the glass. A problem that is easily remedied but selling wine by the glass is far more advantageous. Ontario wine at $12 per glass is outrageous for anyone was ever set foot in Europe . An okay place but not worth the hassle.

Is this closer to Montreal or Toronto? We are staying 2 days in Toronto & 4 days in Montreal. From where is the best place to drive Toronto or Montreal?

When you recommend this winery so confidently I was eager to see what other PEC wineries you had reviewed. I did not find any other reviews. I know Norman Hardie staff speak well of neighbouring wineries like Rosehall, Karlo, and Casa-Dea, and the County is producing excellent wines at many other wineries, like Long Dog, Devil's Wishbone, Exultet, the Old Third, Hubb's Creek, Closson Chase... Which ones did you (Jamie) visit? Comments?

I have visited many; in the like to love column is:
Karhlo (miss Richard though)
The Old Third
Terra Cello rustic with great pizza
Hinterland for bubbly and oysters
Stayners for the charm
Exultet
Rosehall for the Pixie wine
Unfortunately there are a number that are only happy with customers with deep pockets, expensive cars and snotty attitudes
There are also a number that are perhaps best known for their bad service
