About
Closson Chase is a quality-driven producer that has helped spearhead the birth of the Prince Edward County wine industry. Since 1999, it has been committed to creating distinctive wines that rival the world’s finest. Set in Hillier, Ontario, the estate is over 30 acres of south facing, limestone-rich soil under vine; planted high density to the classic Burgundian-varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with small yields, French-inspired vinification and careful barreling in 100% French oak.

Such a delightful way to end our Saturday afternoon in The County, we popped by Closson Chase. We were seated at a lovely table outside on the patio, and greeted warmly by Cassidy. Let's just start by saying experiences are our thing, and Cassidy was on point to help us enjoy our afternoon. She was fun, energetic, charismatic and knowledgeable and added to our experience. We were a group of 8, and she was easy to work with and attentive without being pushy or making us feel rushed. We know she is headed off to new adventures and we all wish her well. Cheers from Red Scarf, Fuzzy Hat Girl, Southern Bell, Green Queen, Santa Clause 2, Four Eyes, Silent but Deadly & Baby Spice. We wish you all the best

We signed up for a wine tasting. It was a lot of fun. Then we went and sat out on the patio to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The service was very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit.

Beautiful winery and yard. Quaint and comfortable with excellent servers and service. I would definitely recommend this as the best winery stop we experienced in Prince Edward County so far.

Setting is amazing. They also allow guests into the fields, but they had just sprayed so we could not go. The tasting was not guided or explained, so felt you were on your own.
I think it is important to know that for those that don't know a lot about wine, you are there because you want to know more, and the more you know the more you buy. Pretty simple.
Pleasant time though, staff were very nice.

I've been here before and always greattime.
Brought a few freinds to check this unique place, we were seated and totally forgotten about . After 20 min waiting tp be served we got up and left. As we were leaving there was another group of people that arrived the same time as myself and he also was forgotten he had to ask for someone to serve them.

We were on the way to Prince Edward County Lavenders when we spotted the bright purple barn of this winery. We decided to drop by and check out the place. One of the winery's distinct features is its iconic big purple barn that can be spotted from far in the distance. As you enter this purple barn structure you go through a spacious hallway leading to the backyard where you can dine under the trees and tents in the garden setting.

This is one of the places you should check out when visiting Prince Edward County

This was our last stop for the weekend before we left the County. We have not been here in a while and were impressed by how well maintained it is. Beautiful flowers, fruit trees, roses, clean, friendly. $15 for a flight of 3 sips is a bit pricy but the atmosphere made up for that.

We were on a tour of PEC wineries and had lunch at Closson Chase. The setting is just beautiful! We were seated under trees, in the shade, with a nice breeze. We had a couple of boxes from The Marans. I have to say that the food and the wine are okay but not over the top. However, it is the setting that is very nice. The service is also courteous and professional. MacKenzie took very good care of us. We did not buy wine but we could go back there to have a nice of wine and just hang out there.

We were not treated well. Having heard about this winery through friend of one of the owners we were expecting a lovely experience. The staff did not greet us. They were all over the place…but nobody seemed to notice we were standing at the door. We walked in hoping to get someone attention…still nothing. When we walked right out onto the patio and asked if we could have a table under an umbrella a staff member told us we could sit in the rain. Yes…sit IN THE RAIN!!! And this was said as he walked by not giving us the time of day! We were expecting a lovely tasting with the hopes of adding some wine to our cellar! We moved on other wineries in the area.
