A winery to cherish, the sparkling wine can compete with real Champagne. We're coming out of Belgium and were used to visit the Champagne region in France. From last year on Hinterland became our spot to buy their wines. Vicky and Jonas created an amazing place here in Hillier, a must to visit and enjoy their delicious wines!
The tasting room is specious, even outdoors there is lots of seating. Service is friendly and professional,

Hinterland is a must visit in PEC. We stopped in on our girls weekend. The bubbles this year are especially excellent, but what really made the visit great was the staff, specifically Deanna. Her knowledge of wine is second to none, she is like an encyclopedia of local wine history and facts. We all left satisfied and with an unexpected but welcome expert education on wine and wine making. Thanks Deanna, you're a peach.

From the road, it looks like a metal barn, but around back it is so lovely! Although the tasting room was full and we could not sit in it, it was absolutely one of the most charming I have ever seen! We loved the sparkling rose. I would suggest some more Muskoka chairs in the back .... we waiting for people to vacate the row of three that are there, then ran over to snag them!!!

Outstanding locally-produced sparkling wine. The flights are served in stemware which adds to the experience. Lots of seating for both indoor and outdoor tastings depending on the weather. They even offered frozen bellinis! The Ancestral was our favourite by far. Happiness in a glass! Service was fast and friendly. We have brought several guests here and all have enjoyed greatly! A must visit in Hillier.

Always a great place to go. Yesterday it was full of people enjoying their tastings and celebrating upcoming weddings . Staff always greet you , explain fully and so pleasant . Wines are superb and so enjoy all of them . Owners Vicki and Jonas , and dog Babette , always want you to have a fun experience . A must stop on wine tours

We love this winery. We visited them when our daughter was just 2 months old and wecsne back now as we remembered how good the sparkling wine was.
The wine did not disappoint. They have a great variety of sparkling wine and we got a few bottles.
They also had a slushy machine and our kuds enjoyed it while we tried the wine. They have this nice casual garden where we can drink wine overlooking the grapes.

Everyone said that this place had some of the best sparkling wines and ciders. They weren’t wrong but the service could have been friendlier. Washroom was incredibly clean and cute and the outdoor setup was perfect...
Staff were all wearing masks and disinfecting the tables after each group. Skip the cherry cider unless you like overly fermented ciders.

Love the sparklin wines.
Just such a disappointment the winery has done so little with the grounds, just a couple of picnic tables, brown painted. Could be fantastic, and be done cheaply.
Next time we will just buy wines and head on down the road to other choices.

If you are a fan of sparkling, then this is the place for you. Delicious bubbles. The staff on our visit were friendly and informative and the tasting flights were very generous at 2 oz each. And the tasting glassware is just so pretty. Nice view of the vineyard, looking forward to coming back when everything is in full leaf. We'll take advantage of their online store if we can't get back this summer.

We arrived on the grand opening weekend of their new brewery. The beer flight was a good value for a trial of their new beers. The food plate offered a "Charcuterie" was a extreme disappointment and certainly not worth the $8.00 charged. The wine flight was absolutely HORRIBLE. They only offered sparkling wines - so if your into bubbly wine - you will enjoy, if not - don't bother. The atmosphere of the winery is dull, dark and cold and the staff really need lessons on customer service with clientele that are not their friends and neighbours! Overall impression - don't waste your time.

Really enjoyed our visit toHinterland. Best of luck with your new tasting room and new beers. Too bad the county cannot fix up the road!
