This Provincial Park is a hidden treasure. There are a few Secrets to having your Best Beach Day here. Weekends are extremely busy so. if that is the only time you can go, arrive early. We are there before 8:00 a.m. so when they unlock the Gate at 8:00 a.m. we can have first choice of our favourite spots.
There are actually two Beaches here. Lake Ontario side and the Small lake side. The small lake side warms earlier in the Season and stays warmer later in the season

Lovely beach! Had the best jalapeño poppers at the canteen! However, people should be informed that the canteen is open only Friday to Sunday. People visiting on Monday to Thursday need to be able to make alternate plans for meals/snacks.ca

Great option for a quieter, less busy atmosphere.
So relaxing. More pebbles than Sandbanks.
Some people might be turned off by this.
Beach seems to have more waves, which makes it so much fun. Really enjoyable and very relaxing. Also, since the parking is across the beach your car is always in plain view and short walk in case you forgot something.
Would highly recommend & would love to go back one day!

My daughters and I came to North Beach Provincial Park for the first time today and were delighted by the excellent service at the entrance. However when we set up our picnic an Ontario Parks officer by the name of T. Moynes approached us to ask us to leave the beach because we had our dog with us. We were not aware that dogs are not allowed on the beach and that there is a designated pet beach. We indicated that it would have been nice to know at the gate so we didn’t set up in the wrong area and her response was very rude. As a result, we decided we wanted to leave and tried to ask for a refund given we had only been at the beach for five minutes. The lovely young woman at the gate was surprised when we told her dogs are not allowed - she was not aware and indicated that she thought they just had to be leashed. She called her manager to inquire about the refund and T. Moynes arrived all fired up and on an unnecessary power trip. I simply asked that we receive a refund because we weren’t told at the gate about the rule against pets (they were not aware either) and she then told me very rudely that we were breaking the law and she was doing me a courtesy by not fining me $95. All of this was so unnecessary. Where is the customer service? I was embarrassed for the nice teenagers working the booth. I rolled my window down in our way out to let them know that they should consider letting people know that the pet designated area was completely full and T. Moynes then proceeded to chase after our car and scream across the parking lot to ‘keep going’! Nothing we did warranted the treatment we received. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon ruined. So completely unacceptable for a public servant to behave this way towards a member of the public that they are supposed to be serving.

The beach is beautiful and big enough, good waves, parking very close to the beach so super useful to move things (compared to Sandbanks that we have to walk further to get to the car) Our section had chemical toilets, it was horrible, nobody dared use them. On the other hand, I did not go further if it was the same. Perfect place for children, it is not hollow. However, given the waves, the water is a little colder than at Sandbanks. Award $21, online Reservation required. Don't forget because we can get screwed and run out of room.

Great beach, clear fine sand, the water had waves of a pretty decent size the one day it was windy. Clean, plenty of facilities and twenty minutes from Sandbanks if that park is all filled up. Long, flat beach so people who want to get their 10K steps will have no issues here. Interesting that this is more like a 'sand bar' so that you have water on either side of the beach area.

I have written a review on North beach before and in general it is a good beach to visit. Unfortunately this year (summer 2017) because of flooding from excessive rain and high water levels the beach is eroded. I contacted someone from the county and this has never occurred in fifty years. If you visit, please understand that this condition is very unusual. This year the beach is not cleaned and part of the beach is closed due to flooding and because of conservation as a rare bird is nesting on the shore. Please consider visiting when things revert to normal. Will keep you posted..

Okay beach, good alternative to Sandbanks. Water and beach seem a little dirty and beach is packed on weekends but alright overall.

North Beach Provincial Park has, IMHO, one of the nicest beaches on the lake. The lake is shallow and sandy at this beach, so it's perfect for kids and the water warms up quicker as a result. The Park closes after Labour Day, but it's only a short walk from the road where you can park your car, down to the beach. We went on September 26th, and the lake was still warm enough for all of us to enjoy - amazing.

Fabulous beach. Long sandy shore. Easy access parking. Reasonable entry free. Two beaches to choose from (North Beach and Lake Ontario). Delicous Onion Rings at the canteen and very friendly Park Staff - and it's rarely crowded.
