Sandbanks is the main beach that everyone who goes to Prince Edward County thinks about going to, and while Sandbanks is great, it can also get very crowded. For a smaller, quieter and calmer beach experience, I check out North Beach. Same type of sand,...More

Upsides: shallow. lotsa sand. Not crowded. Downsides: facilities are limited (No running water. park store is really just a chip stand), waves can get big with the prevailing win; not a lot of parking. Even on weekdays in the summer, the limited parking spots can...More

Nice long beach with lots of waves. However there are some really rocky/pebbly sections making it difficult to walk the beach along the water. Great if you plan to find a sandy spot and stay put.

We were staying at Presqu’Ile and went for lunch at a nearby winery. On our way back to our campsite we thought we’d take a peak and see if we’d like to come back to camp next time. The beach is wavy but lovely. Worth...More

Many locals kept talking about North Beach. Highlights: Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the sand, the shallowness of the water caused by the dunes which allowed for walking quite a way out. Nice shady spots under trees not far from water. Ice cream and...More

Awesome both times. We just discovered this beach this year. We had our great niece with us who is 4. We've been twice in the last 2 weeks. Bay side of park has more shade available and no undertow. Very nice relaxing place. Not terribly...More

I kayaked on the bay and then went for a swim in the lake. The bay was calm, and I even saw a pair of swans with their young, although I gave them a lot of room to avoid upsetting them. The lake is warming...More

We go here about 5-10 times in the summer and it’s great for having space between fellow beach-goers. Unlike Sandbanks, people don’t travel from larger cities like Kingston & Toronto nearly as much. Mostly just locals. The water is usually clean, although sometimes gets algae...More

Well maintained like most provincial parks that I have been to. The beach options were nice, we opted for the bay rather than the lake. We were sad that the flood waters limited the available beach space, but nature does as it wishes. We will...More

I have written a review on North beach before and in general it is a good beach to visit. Unfortunately this year (summer 2017) because of flooding from excessive rain and high water levels the beach is eroded. I contacted someone from the county and...More

Check the Ontario Parks website under Frequently Asked Questions under the heading, 'Dogs/Pets'. The short answer seems to be no dogs on the beach at North Beach. Sandbanks seems to allow dogs, but it would be best to... More
