Invisible from the road, this winery is set well back down a long gravel driveway. Just turn at the sign and follow the trail -- don't worry, you're not in the wrong place. The driveway is narrow as it passes through some trees, so if someone is coming the other way, one of you will have to back out to a place where there is room to pull over and let the others pass.

A beautiful setting with immaculately maintained gardens, this is perfect for a picnic or going for a walk while tasting some wine. The owner said she encourages people to bring their own food to pair with tastings but that they do not offer food on the property. They also do not accept buses, limos, bicycle tours, or groups for tastings, according to the owner.

Almost sold out of stock, there were only three wines available for purchase. Due to COVID considerations, they were not offering tastings per se; rather, you could buy a bottle and sample some from your own bottle before leaving, if you wish, but no tastings in advance of purchase.

We were met by one of the owners (the wife of the winemaker) who was very knowledgeable and talked at length on several winery and wine-related topics. However, she did not make an effort to ask about us and our own knowledge of wine and wine making, so spent a lot of time covering very fundamental topics that were not of interest to us. She tries to be very charming and sophisticated; however, she comes across as arrogant and harshly opinionated. I found her comments a bit grating at times. One couple waiting behind us for their turn at the table left in frustration with one mumbling that they found her "too snooty" for their liking.

While we still bought 7 bottles of three wines (without having tasted them first), we did so based on the recommendation of someone we trusted from another winery, not based on our 10-minute one-on-one conversation with the owner. If it were just based on our conversation with her, we would have empty-handed as well.

Still, the gardens are beautiful and worth seeing and a short stroll in the vineyard is quite worth the time.

Joni was absolutely incredible, I wasn’t able to taste the wine as they are trying to be safe during COVID. But Joni’s explanation of the Cuvée and the Chardonnay sold me right away. This is an incredible example of a small winery in the county

Wonderful winery off the beaten tracks; small batch production; lovely tasting (especially the Pinot Noir & Gewurtztraminer) with Ms. Gilligham (the winemaker's wife) who explained everything at length and toured us through the vineyard and allowed us to relax in her beautiful garden.

Three of us travelled by bicycle north of Wellington and we saw the sign at Wilson Road. We rode the long driveway to the winery and liked it instantly. Outside we spoke for a while with Dave Gillingham, the co-owner and winemaker. What a wealth of knowledge. Then we experienced with his wife Joan a wonderful wine tasting. She beautifully explained the different wines and we enjoyed very much her passion. And - all four wines, we tasted, were superb. Especially their Gewuertztraminer. It was phenomenal! Unfortunately I took only one photo. Probably to much "distracted" by the whole experience. We will definitively come back in a few weeks.

My husband and I, along with two other couples, visited the winery in June 2018 on our annual trip to the county, at the recommendation of another small winery owner in the area. So glad we did. We had a wonderful tasting experience and purchased two white wines. We opened the first one tonight. 2017 Gewurtztraminer. It was phenomenal! We will be returning to the county in early June and will definitely be stopping again this year. Very curious about their white port after a recent trip to Portugal and Oporto.

Domaine Darius is a hidden gem, and that is the way the owners like it. The tasting is such an educational experience as well as a palate-pleasing extravaganza. From the Cuvee to the special blend, each vintage was superb, and the porto they produce is simply out of this world. Do not miss this self-effacing outfit. Only one problem: get there fast or they will run out!

Of two days touring wineries in PEC this was our favourite. Not only did we enjoy our #1 red wine of the weekend here (2017 Vintner’s Secret), but it was presented to us by the winery’s owner Joni. It was so obvious to everyone in this filled tasting room how much Joni loved talking about her wines. Her enthusiasm was contagious. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more. We look forward to taking more friends there on our next trip. It was certainly worth the drive from Toronto. Thank you Joni. (Wish we had bought an entire case of this red wine.)
