A great experience had by all! We went as 4 girls on a wine weekend, and were so happy with our experience at Broken Stone. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and gave lots of information with each tasting. The atmosphere was also top notch - from beautiful vineyard views to great photo opportunities and lots of animals around. We loved it and are so grateful to the welcoming staff

This may just be our favourite winery in the county. You feel so welcomed and the ambiance is beautiful. They always greet you with a smile and a welcome sparkling wine. We enjoy sitting and listening to the rustling poplar trees on the patio. We have done the wine and cheese pairing which is hosted by one of the owners. The cheese is all locally sourced and is also sold on site. We have also attended their 5 à 7 on Friday evenings where you can enjoy a wine pairing and live music. We love returning and bringing our visitors to this lovely place. Beautiful spot and delicious wine.

Customer service from Hannah was excellent. Very cordial and informative have added more seating since last time there. However $15 for one glass of wine where every other winery we visited is way overpriced

We came by for the 5-7 special on Friday eve and it was amazing. The atmosphere, tables by the vineyard and live music, was such a treat. The wine we had with our pairing was Simplicity and we bought 2 additional bottles on the way out! It was delicious.

We reserved our tasting online, which was easy and saved time upon arrival. This is a beautiful winery in the heart of Prince Edward County's 'Golden Mile', Closson Road. They have tables and picnic tables set up facing the vineyards. Plenty of shade or sun depending on your preference. They are offering a choice of flights (3 wines) for $10 and even greet you with a welcome sparkling reisling (delicious, we bought a bottle). Friendly service and the owner even stopped by to chat. Delicious wines, try the Gewurzimeiner! We will bring guests here for sure. Lovely, laid back experience.

Sampling price was the most expense of all 12 wineries we tried. For my taste the wine was over priced in comparison to other wineries

Hi Lori, Thanks for dropping by and sharing your feedback. We think a lot about comments like yours and take them in stride. It's valuable to know what you think and we are always thinking about how we can provide a better customer experience, which influences what prices should be. Currently we provide four 1.5 oz tastings for $7 in our Harvest Flight, which I think is in line with or cheaper than other local wineries. Our premium flights are $10 and $12 for four 1.5 oz samples. All the wine is provided via table service in real glass ware. We have several wines that are priced under $20 with the least expensive "Simplicity" for $14.95. Our premium lineup of oak-aged, County-grown wines are priced in-line with similar quality wines from Prince Edward County wineries. For example, the median price of VQA Prince Edward County Pinot Noir is about $35, which is the price of our Pinot Noir. Best regards, Tim Kuepfer Broken Stone Winery

I visited here with a group of six while touring PEC. Upon arrival we ordered our flights and a snack, bread and oil 5$ and a cheese tray 15$. Four thin slices of bread and a tablespoon of olive oil, really? And the cheese tray equally skimpy (though tasty) Come on guys, I'm certainly not cheap or even frugal, but you should be ashamed.

Hello Bruce, Thank you so much for coming by our winery and letting us know your thoughts. Based on your feedback I will double check the portion sizes -- I know some staff are more frugal with bread and cheese than others. We won't be lowering the prices but will strive to offer good value. Many customers have requested that we make snacks or food available for purchase with their wine tasting. The ingredients are the highest quality available to us - artisinal, locally made cheese, extra virgin organic olive oil from a small olive grove our friend's family has in Greece, and bread that is normally still warm from our oven. Our price represents the cost of providing food service when we aren't a restaurant. We aren't set up to deliver that many servings of bread, olive oil, and cheese platters. People are sitting in one of our limited tables for longer, at the cost of our ability to provide additional tastings to other customers. We provide table service, and have to pay for additional sanitation, providing dishes and washing them, etc. If you are looking to fill your belly, it would be a good idea to visit one of the great local wineries that offer wood fired pizza before you come to Broken Stone Winery. The cheese plates and bread aren't designed as belly-filling fare -- more as pairing platters and palate purgers! We would rather focus on the wine. Best regards Tim Kuepfer

We visited Broken Stone last September (2019). Purchased 2 wines which we had tasted at the winery. We drank the 2017 Pinot Sept 18, 2020, which was OK. We opened the 2018 Fifth Street (Marquette/Foch) Sept 20. I really like Foch, and was looking forward to this. We each had one sip, dumped the $25 bottle down the sink. Not what we had tasted at the winery, this was barn-yardy, had a strong medicinal smell, totally undrinkable. I keep my wines in a temperature-controlled cellar, and have enjoyed other bottles after 3-5 years in my cellar. We will be in PEC again this weekend Sept25,26, but will avoid Broken Stone!

Hello, Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like that bottle of Marquette/Foch went off in spite of your cellar. Sometimes that can happen with low sulfite wines that are hand bottled, as that one was If you can take a chance and try another visit I would be glad to replace it with your choice of a fresh bottle. Best regards, Tim Kuepfer Broken Stone Winery
