Right from the start, you are welcomed with a taste of sparkling wine, The hostess was very friendly and service oriented and took care of us right away. Very relaxing and non pretentious vineyard and tasting area. Wines are up to the individual taste but we enjoyed the ones we had. Food was excellent and paired well with the wine. There was live music and that added to the enjoyment. Managed to speak with on of the owners who explained the name and was entertaining and informative. Kelli was our server and she was attentive but no obtrusive and took great care of us. Seemed to be one of the more popular vineyards and seemed like it was a stop for many people as well as bridal parties. Enjoyed the ambiance and no hesitation in recommending this as a great place to visit.

We reserved our tasting online, which was easy and saved time upon arrival. This is a beautiful winery in the heart of Prince Edward County's 'Golden Mile', Closson Road. They have tables and picnic tables set up facing the vineyards. Plenty of shade or sun depending on your preference. They are offering a choice of flights (3 wines) for $10 and even greet you with a welcome sparkling reisling (delicious, we bought a bottle). Friendly service and the owner even stopped by to chat. Delicious wines, try the Gewurzimeiner! We will bring guests here for sure. Lovely, laid back experience.

We came by for the 5-7 special on Friday eve and it was amazing. The atmosphere, tables by the vineyard and live music, was such a treat. The wine we had with our pairing was Simplicity and we bought 2 additional bottles on the way out! It was delicious.

Customer service from Hannah was excellent. Very cordial and informative have added more seating since last time there. However $15 for one glass of wine where every other winery we visited is way overpriced

Came upon this winery by chance and decided to stop for a tasting. They had live music which was nice by could hardly hear them as they did not have a mic. The wine wine was ok but my husbands fight of red wine was a disappointment as the wine was hot just warm but hot. They had the wine and the glasses in the sun.

Hi Irene,
Thanks for dropping by our winery and writing a review.
We and our customers were overjoyed to cautiously reopen our tasting room after COVID-19 shutdowns. To keep everyone safe we moved our tastings outside under our pergola and spread people out. It makes a pleasant, festive, and safe atmosphere.
On that first opening day we didn't anticipate the movement of the sun through the sky and by early afternoon our newly moved tasting bar was no longer in the shade. It was a hot one, and we had some growing pains -- some bottles stood in the sun for a while.
Please accept our heartfelt apologies for your husband's warm wine and be assured that is not representative of the experience at Broken Stone Winery. We've since moved the bar into a more sheltered spot and added cooling equipment, so if you want to try another visit I think you will find your wine is served at the perfect temperature.
Also with COVID 19 distancing rules, people are a lot more spread out than they used to be. Everyone used to crowd under the pergola to listen to the band, which worked well, but now we only allow 6 people at a time to keep everyone safe.
The Broken Tones read your comments and took them seriously. They started bringing their amplifiers and microphones. They tune the system at a volume level everyone can comfortably hear the music but still also chat with each other and discuss the wines with our incredible staff. It sounds great.
Thanks again for your comments, they have really helped us improve our service experience. We hope you give it another shot. We will treat you well.
Cheers,

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely tasting at Broken Stone this afternoon. Tim shared his knowledge and pride of his wines on this sunny Friday afternoon which we're sure was quieter than usual due to the COVID-19 situation. Broken Stone offered a safe, relaxed and healthy experience in which to enjoy the tasting. The red flight was our choice and some bottles of the Merlot and Meritage followed us home following the tasting. We also enjoyed the Sparkling Riesling, sweet (not overly so) and refreshing! We'll be back!

We visited Broken Stone last September (2019). Purchased 2 wines which we had tasted at the winery. We drank the 2017 Pinot Sept 18, 2020, which was OK. We opened the 2018 Fifth Street (Marquette/Foch) Sept 20. I really like Foch, and was looking forward to this. We each had one sip, dumped the $25 bottle down the sink. Not what we had tasted at the winery, this was barn-yardy, had a strong medicinal smell, totally undrinkable. I keep my wines in a temperature-controlled cellar, and have enjoyed other bottles after 3-5 years in my cellar. We will be in PEC again this weekend Sept25,26, but will avoid Broken Stone!

Hello,
Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like that bottle of Marquette/Foch went off in spite of your cellar. Sometimes that can happen with low sulfite wines that are hand bottled, as that one was If you can take a chance and try another visit I would be glad to replace it with your choice of a fresh bottle.
Best regards,
Tim Kuepfer

This may just be our favourite winery in the county. You feel so welcomed and the ambiance is beautiful. They always greet you with a smile and a welcome sparkling wine. We enjoy sitting and listening to the rustling poplar trees on the patio. We have done the wine and cheese pairing which is hosted by one of the owners. The cheese is all locally sourced and is also sold on site. We have also attended their 5 Ă 7 on Friday evenings where you can enjoy a wine pairing and live music. We love returning and bringing our visitors to this lovely place. Beautiful spot and delicious wine.

Visited this winery as apart of our PEC tour. It was one of our favorites in terms of ambiance and set up! Enjoyed some of the wines but the outside tables and live music were the best! I would have sat out for the whole afternoon if our driver would have let us. I wish more of the wineries had live music. During Covid it was a really nice added touch!
