Highly recommend people visit and pay their respects. Very few (if any) other places in Australia to view and commemorate Australian and Allied war graves from combat during WW2. The cemetery is well kept and an emotional memorial to the many hundreds of service women and men who gave their lives in defence of Australia in the Second World War. A must see to appreciate the sacrifices these service and civilian personnel made.

True story, I came across this as I was looking for a bathroom while driving south from Darwin :D :D And I am so glad I saw the signs and decided to swing by to have a look. There are wild wallabies around, and the cemetery is so beautifully maintained, tranquil and well worth a visit. It's not massive so... More

The War Cemetery is situated in savannah country about 1km from the Stuart Highway, along a short bitumen road, which runs parallel to, and 100 metres from, the Adelaide River. Within the War Cemetery the graves are set in a grassed area with low growing shrubs dotted in regular patterns among the headstones. Beyond this, there are colourful garden beds... More

You'd never think something so well presented could be found in the middle of nowhere but this cemetery is beautifully maintained a wonderful tribute to our fallen heroes.

Very well maintained and clean area, great for picnics as well close to the river. And not to far from town central.

Really beautiful cemetery. Brings home the gravity of the war. Impeccable up keeping. Spending some time just reflecting is well worth it.

It was heartwarming to see this place so well maintained and obviously well maintained War Cemetery. I felt very humbled by the experience of visiting this place. Loved the large trees outside; Mahogany, Bohdi tree (on that Buddha gained enlightenment under) and many other tree.
