I was expecting facades like the Treasurery and the Library at Petra which was the capital of the Nabataean empire. However, the burial sites or tombs for the now disappeared city of Hegra were multidimensional. You could walk inside them. Also worth a visit were the rock formations around "Elephant" and the Fort in Ul Ula. We stayed at the... More

Was expecting to see few sights and be on our way. This place has so much to offer and definitely needs 2 days. You need a guide and good walking shoes. We climbed and walked. Everyone from the teens to the 10 year olds to the seniors enjoyed the trip. Sights are spectacular. Many of the rock formations remind you... More

If you're thinking of visiting Madain Saleh, you must have seen the pictures. But nothing compares to being there both in terms of the history and amazing Nabataean burial architecture and the natural landscape. The superposition of the two makes this a truly unique experience. The place is so well preserved and quiet (yes, only a few people actually have... More

We visited Medain Saleh earlier this month and it was absolutely fantastic. Lots to see and learn about but I highly recommend getting a guide to take you around. The weather was quite chilly compared to the rest of Saudi Arabia during this time of year so bring warm clothes.

It was good experience, Site is completely secure, on entrance you would find police, which checks the Iqama and then let you in. Its a good place from Archaeological point of view. You should try to visit it in evening before sunset , at that time the mountains gives very cool look of pinkish and golden color. Even way to... More

Outstanding historical site. I’d would love to visit this historical site again. Before my visit, I saw many pictures of Mada'in Saleh but they were not even close to the impression I had after spending two days walking around and going inside this historical site.

I visited back in April for a quick weekend trip from Kuwait. It does take about 4 hrs to drive, and if like me you are a single female traveller you will of course incur the expense of a driver. Don't let this put you off. My guide Khaled who I found via aviator guides was probably the best guide... More
