... and go for quality. Six pounds goes a long way with this company. A Yank here for a day of fun after three days of business, I signed up with for the Essential York tour given by Gary. This guy is local, has been doing this for years, and knows what he's talking about. Even though it rained for... More

An excellent guide (Chris) took us through York. His knowledge was only matched by his passion as he not only pointed out the big important parts of the city but also had facts and stories for small bits that otherwise would have been missed... A perfect starting point for anyone visiting York!!

Chris was our tour guide for Essential York walk this morning. He was fantastic! A wealth of knowledge about the history of York. I learned a lot from him that I wouldn't have found out otherwise. Would highly recommend.

Had a great walk this morning with Lyn only spoiled when it started to drizzle. Even though we have visited York many times over the last 18 + years, she showed us things and told stories we'd never heard before. Definitely will do another of these walks on our next visit.

Took a walk with John. He is a fountain of information and went out of his way to show us parts of the city that were of special interest to us.

John our guide was a wealth of knowledge and very entertaining, the fact that he lives in York and is able to cite stories from wall to wall made our tour very personal, we loved it!

The wet bank holiday weather certainly did not damped our enjoyment of this excellent walking tour. Our tour guide, John was absolutely fantastic. His in depth knowledge and enthusiasm for York and its history really made us smile. There were only two of us on this tour and John was able to really personalise it and relate it to our... More

Although it was a rainy and cold morning, we still had an excellent time on the York walk. John is incredibly knowledgable and delivers the content with such passion and individuality. We really enjoyed seeing all the old artefacts and coins he has which brought the history to life. He has a very individual knowledge and personalised it to me,... More

Just decided to take a long midweek trip to York with my better half. We had planned all the usual touristy trips on buses and boats and a visit to the castle museum. Did all that we had planned and had a lovely time. However the surprising highlight of our few days was the two guided tours we took which... More
