Beautiful tops and ridges for both long distance walkers and mountaineers. The location would benefit from better overnight accommodation.

First of all, a precision about distance. The 1999 edition of the Rough Guide implies that this lake a a gentle stroll from Pievepelago - but in fact it is 12km. We had a car, so no problem, but don't expect to walk there and...More

Very nice place, for all seasons! In winter you can do skitouring and ice-climbing, in summer just walk around the lake or do climbing in the nearest area of Lago Baccio. I suggest you to have lunch at Rifugio Vittoria.

....but also for skitouring, or just a walk with children around the lake. Monte Giovo is really a nice place to climb, not difficult in all seasons.
