Skyride was awesome. Great scenic views. Was cold on mountain, still ice on ground. The peak Chairlift was great, but cold and fog coverage on the peak, so did not see too much views. Bear habitat was average.

It was a beautiful day! It started with green trees and as we went up the mountain on the gondola it became white full of snow!

We went to dinner at the observatory at Grouse mountain which meant we could get the gondola up there included in our meal. We could only use the gondola from 4pm which suited us as we just wanted to see the bears and the views.
The meal was superb, best steak I have had in a long time. Extremely good value for money. The staff were very attentive and the views were stunning.

Well worth the visit! We went a week before the Summer season commenced, so the free shuttle bus wasn't running from Vancouver. It was easy enough to get there by public transport. Not all of the daily activities were operating, so after riding the gondola to the top of the mountain, we headed straight to the Grizzle Bear habitat. We saw amazing wood carvings along the pathway. The views from the top of the mountain are amazing and you can buy lunch at the Chalet café; and eat it out on the deck. There's also a storyboard in the Theatre in the Sky, which maps out the history of the mountain, the Chalet and the ski clubs. I found it a very interesting place to visit.

My family and I have started to get into snow sports after my wife and I had taken several years off. Our kids are at that perfect age now, where it makes for a great full day activity. We had decided that we should get family seasons passes for next season and were in the process of deciding on a mountain. We tried Seymour, Sasquatch and Grouse all on weekends to compare traffic both on the hill and the drives to/from
On Saturday March 11th we went to Grouse and as expected it was a busy day. The lines were long, the mountain was busy, the snow was nice and we enjoyed the runs. By noon we had enjoyed ourselves and stopped for lunch at the Peak Chalet. After about 45 minutes or so we went back to hit the slopes and were shocked and appalled to find my snowboard was stolen! My 7 years old's board that was leaning against mine was lying on the ground and mine was nowhere to be seen. I immediately ran to the gondola to make sure someone wasn’t heading down with my board, but of course no one there had it. I went to the Guest services in the Peak Chalet to report it stolen. The gentleman there was friendly and very apologetic and said he could get me a premium rental to help salvage the day for our family. I got fitted and set up with a rental board. It had now been about 45-60 minutes since I noticed my board missing. I was about to leave with the rental when off to the right hand corner of the rental desk, not behind the desk, but right outside it, leaning against the wall was a snowboard that looked like mine. I went over and turned the board around and sure enough it was mine. I could tell by the bindings, and one nick on the nose of my two week old board. I asked the guys behind the desk what the hell! I said this is my board that was just stolen. The one guy said, “someone put it there around 10 minutes ago, we assumed it was a rental return.” Another guy said, “wow you’re lucky, that’s a nice board.” I left with my board, but something didn’t sit right. If my board was stolen and hour ago, how/why did someone put it in the rental shop 300 yards away, “ten minutes ago”.
I don’t want to accuse anyone without any proof, but it seems very strange to me. I believe it could have been an employee(s), possibly in the rental shop that stole my board and was planning on bringing it down at the end of the day. If they leave the board to the side, not in their possession, but within their grasp, by the end of the day they could take it down the gondola when no one is around. I reported to customer relations right before we went down the mountain and the gentleman there agreed that the whole thing was rather fishy and wanted to get the rental shop manager over so I could talk to him. We were late for a family dinner, so we didn’t have time to wait. I sent an email to customer relations, he was apologetic but pretty much dismissed my concerns and said someone probably thought my shiny new board was their rental board and returned it. but not really returned it. hid it off to the side in the rental shop.
Needless to say, we will not be getting passes at Grouse! Please be very carful with your property at this mountain and if you do get something stolen, check the rental shop!

As per our email exchange - this seems to be a case of another guest mistakinly grabbing your board vs. their rental. We don't have video of the board being taken, but of it being returned to the rental shop by a guest. He also returned his rental boots at the same time. Again, I am glad that you have your board back, and that our team provided you with free rentals if you so needed. After continued investigation, I am confident that this was an honest mistake by a guest and not an intented theft by anyone.

Not much to do if you’re not doing snow sports. We were visiting Vancouver with another young couple but didn’t opt for winter spots as we were injured. Was hoping to catch some good views but clouds rolled in. Check visibility otherwise you won’t be able to see anything. Had to go due to being outside of 24 cancellation window. Systems were down so had to wait to exchange voucher for tickets (20-30 min wait). Everyone gets the nachos because they’re huge but just standard nachos. Nothing special. Will try to go back in summer months as I’m sure it’s beautiful and would be cool to see bear exhibit when awake.

A very well organised and sleek service to get to the mountain from the car parks. We used the bus and it stops right by the tram. The mountain has lots of trails and paths for all levels of skiers or you can walk through a number of paths. Compared with other ski places in the ares it is not expensive and the staff and ski school are helpful and very good. The food service is as you would expect and not overly expensive.
during the week the mountain is not busy and the slopes are great. The biggest benefit is the night skiing which is until after 9PM, unlike most resorts that close at 4. It does get bust after 4 when the local residents go for a ski or snowboard but it is still not too busy.

I called to setup some services for a member of the Mountain. The call wait was over 30 minutes and the automated service kept saying the wait time was 1 MINUTE. This was when I was number 16 in the queue. The WAIT TIME did not change. It kept saying 1 MINUTE.
I do not mind waiting but please have a more accurate method of letting a perspective customer (now number 2 position at 30 minutes) how long they potentially could be waiting.

The temperatures were so hot on the evening we visited--eighties Fahrenheit, I recall-- it was difficult to enjoy this site. The sun exposure is intense because they have removed most of the trees. If tourists are to endure the warmer days here, they need to plant some trees to provide shade
.
The raptor show and lumberjack show were very well done. The food catered to our large party was decent. I just expected to experience a beautiful northwest forested area and did not realize the place would be razed.

I came with the family, expecting to be able to sled with my two year old, but I wasn't bring to bring my own sled. The rental sled wasn't big enough for the two of us. Landed up being waste of time and money

Hello,
We got a small tour for a bus to take us there.
You can buy the tickets on Trip advisor or directly at the Canada Place Kiosk.
They take you to Grouse Mountain, let you be there for a few hours and on the way back they stop at Capilano suspension Bridge, which is a must.
Great experience, totally recommended.
Hi there- I am planning a visit and was wondering if the Kids Tree Canopy will be open this weekend?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hi All
I’m considering the Breakfast with the Bears for my family and I next May before our Disney cruise. I see the times listed are 0830–1030. What time can one reasonably guess it takes to complete the breakfast and spend time at this park? Should this be a whole day adventure or can it be done in a few hours before our embarkation?

Surbiton, UK614 contributions
We did not have the breakfast and so it is difficult to be specific for you. I think the time you spend will depend on what you want to do and how much time you have.
The are some shows that are 'must dos' - for example the lumberjack show and the birds of prey. I was a bit disappointed with the bears as it was really just like seeing them in a zoo.
Do not underestimate the time it takes to get up and down. The queues build quickly.
If it were me I would take the day unless you have something else that you specifically want to do. I would take your own lunch - food is expensive and average.

Hi,We are coming from Australia and have 1 week in Vancouver, we are thinking of the NYE family celebration at Grouse Mountain - we will have a 5yo and a 9yo. I'm a little concerned about all the posts I've read about overcrowding and just standing around waiting in line. Would you recommend the NYE celebration for families or is it just a whole bunch of waiting in line?

Hi Miriam,
from 7pm onwards the only people on top of the mountain will be New Years Eve ticket holders. Its an awesome event up here on the mountain so i do highly encourage it. We do cap the tickets at a certain amount of people. I will let you know that there will be a line coming down as everyone will be exiting the mountain at the same time.

Hi, if I would to visit Grouse mountain in the beginning of October, what are activities available? Is the free shuttle bus still available? Thanks
Brownfish35
Surrey, Canada22 contributions
The free shuttle only runs in the summer until September. You can get there by regular transit. Also make sure it's a sunny day when you go up otherwise you will have no view. The activities should all be open still. (Not included in your lift ticket price) They do have a disc golf course up there that is fee to play if you bring your own discs. It's always chillier when up the mountain so bring a sweater or light jacket.
