I doubt we would have experienced this unless a local had taken us. I will always remember the huge drop into the canyon and the roar of the falls! What made it unique was seeing a helicopter rescue.

This is located in between the two attractions and is a beautiful spot for stretching your legs or having a picnic. The walk to the dam is really easy and the dam itsel is impressive (mini Hoover dam). The lake is so serene. Nice place...More

We were staying a few blocks away from the dam and we made a quick stop one morning. The dam is nice (we have seen many dams :), so I wouldn't say this is a must see. But the park, lake, the roaring waters from...More

Short stop over to see the mountain and lake backdrop. Very picturesque. You can go down and see the water rushing down to the Capillano River.

The Cleveland Dam is on the same road as Grouse Mountain so it is well worth taking a detour to visit the park. Very scenic...Capilano Lake + the Dam itself. You could walk, hike or run in the trails and a beautiful place to picnic....More

When I visited Cleveland Dam, the waters were roaring out of the dam and crashing down to the stream below, making a spectacular sight! Awesome! Nice park and picnic tables at the entrance and an amazing view of The Sisters snow covered mountains overlooking Cleveland...More

There was a very pretty little park near the dam. Nice grassy area to have a picnic on a sunny day. Walk down a short hill to get a better view of the pounding waters.

Coming from Grouse Mountain we decided to have a stop here and it was a good decision. You get a great view of Lake Capilano and see a thundering waterfall at the other side of the dam. The park next to is ideal for a...More

For those who have never seen one, a Dam stops water. And this Dam doesn't disappoint. There was lots of water. Quite a diverse population of birds. Got some good pictures of humming birds and Eagles. There's a nice view of the mountains. Also lots...More

Quite spectacular to see the "Falls" from standing and looking from above. A nice parklike area with a good view of the "Lions Gate" mountain.

There is no construction on the dam, nor the park beside it. . . There might be some road work on the road that goes up to it, but it will allow traffic thru because it goes to major tourist attractions . . . well worth any... More

I believe there are some bus stops but I too had a rental car, it's literally 4 minutes from the bridge, but what a sight. I think a taxi can take you there, it's truly on the same road 4-5 minutes
