The Grouse Grind is mother nature's stair master. Bring appropriate footwear like running shoes on sunny days or hiking shoes on wet soggy days. Carry plenty of water and pace yourself to the top. The end is quite a bit steeper than the beginning. The...More

The stair stepper from hell. But worth the effort to get the views on top. Make sure you wear appropriate hiking clothes and shoes. And it is much better if you are in decent cardio shape. Don't start to fast on your first try, it...More

The challenge is a high. Bucket list type of event. Once you do reach the top take in your achievement by soaking up the view of Vancouver. Spectacular.

One of my favorite things to do in Vancouver. 2.8 km straight up the mountain. Fantastic work out. Our kids loved it too. Ages 10, 12 and 15. Must ride gondola down. $10/person. Highly recommend for people who like to hike and want a workout.

You have to be in a good shape to do the whole Grind, where a good pair of shoes. I have seen a lot of people rescued because they thought they could do it. Don't take a chance.

The Grouse Grind is a great, unique thing to do on a trip to Vancouver. As a 24 y/o who exercises daily, this was a tough workout, yet I believe it is manageable for anyone who stays in shape. Despite finishing in a relatively good...More

The grind is awesome! If you're visiting Van or a resident, this is a great way to push your fitness level to the max. Be warned, if you've spent the last 6 months sitting on the couch this will be beyond difficult! I run great...More

It's about 3kms up with some areas having steps and some areas with rocks but it's exciting. Try to go there before 10am so you're not trying to hike with tourist just taking their time enjoying the view. Plus it's not so hot before 10am....More

We went to Grouse Mountain just to do the Grind! It was tough, it was fun and it was absolutely gorgeous. We took it slow and easy, but I'd love to go back and do it again. Only for the seriously fit though.

Take ur time and enjoy the hike. I did it as fast as I could. U can do it! But definitely take water. And buy a t-shirt at the top - gives the specifics -3000 steps, etc. Have fun!
