Walking the trail that loops this waterfront wilderness area is easy- gravel is firmly packed, and there is almost no elevation change. Vistas change by the minute- mudflats, sandbar, lagoon, berry bushes, shipping and leisure craft on Burrard Inlet, this is a place you can...More

Please folks, no running around the trails as this is a wildlife sanctuary and not a park. Great place to come and sit or quietly walk about looking for the thousands of birds and other animals who make their home on this former industrial area...More

We visited the Flats to observe woodland and estuary birdlife. There were not many people even though it was a sunny Saturday afternoon in a metropolitan area. We observed a good variety of birds and waterfowl and really enjoyed our visit.

This is a great area for families, for bird watchers, and photographers. Easy access as well. We had a cold and therefore clear December which made for some great sunrises.
