Inspired by a brochure we picked up at the Maxville Highland Games on local breweries, some friends and I did an overnight trip to Cornwall to check some of them out. Rurban was one I had stopped in before (and enjoyed) so I made sure it was on our list.
It's located downtown just a bit off the beaten trail but it's not hard to find (and has a cool mural out front). Inside, it's pretty small, with just a few picnic tables (that were full... but they seated us at one of their work table with no fuss!), a cooler and a counter and then lots of brewing equipment (they have a small clean restroom for customers too).
We each ordered a beer and were very happy with them.. among us we had an IPA, a Stout, and an Ale. We would've tried more but they tend to close fairly early (like 6pm), so we enjoyed our beer and moved along.
Overall though, this is a friendly local place and their beer is good. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure to have some Rurban beer. I thought I wasn’t going to like it, but I did! Bravo! So proud of this hometown (Cornwall ) beers success!

When I travel, I make special arrangements to stop and try the local beer. This is mostly done at airports. The Schafly in STL and Yazoo in BNA are both very good. I stopped by on Saturday night around 8:30pm and the were closed. I'm happy they open Sunday at 11am. Otherwise, I would have been disappointed. I was only able to take two cans; I was worried about going through the border crossing and them taking my beer. I drank the Golden lager and it's very good. I definitely would make the 8 hour drive from Delaware to Canada to visit and buy more Rurban.

I do like craft beer from other places I have tried here I just found the ones I tried to be to hoppy and taste was to strong of pine

Karen & Alan made us feel very welcome as we are in the process of moving to Cornwall and gave us a ton of information. Great beer, we bought t-shirts and a gorgeous marble coaster.
Everyone including Mikaya was very friendly which is more than can be said of other breweries!

Here's a true microbrewery that isn't secretly owned by the big blah brewing companies. Family owned and operated with some of the best craft beer I've ever tasted...they know their beers and usually create some new flavours for the sipping public. Here's a test take a sip of any Rurban beer, then take a sip of your typical mass merchandised brand...you will never drink your old brand again.Sure it does cost a bit more, but if you drink beer for it's taste then you will truly appreciate Rurban

Great tasting tasting beer and very friendly staff. My friends and I love this place. Not sure what you like? Speak with the friendly staff and they'll guide you and even let you sample some of their product. You can mix and match to try out different kinds to find out which flavour you like the best.

As a craft beer lover, I can’t begin to tell you how happy we were to see this place open up in Cornwall. It truly is a gem for the area.
Rurban Brewing is the first brewery to open up in Cornwall since well...like forever! I honestly don’t remember what the date was for the last brewery but let’s just say a long time.
You are greeted by the owners Andy and Karen the second you walk through the door. Karen’s smile immediately welcomes you like a friend not a customer. That’s the atmosphere they have achieved. It’s like walking into a friend’s house. Well a friend who makes great beer that is. Several options available for sampling at the bar. I do believe they are up to 9 or 10 available now. New ones popping up all the time, causing me to change “my favourite” on a monthly basis. All their beer is available in cans, which you can mix and match to your liking.
Interested in a tour? Not a problem. Andy (AJ) is not only owner but also the brewer. He will walk you through the brewery explaining the process along the way. He’s also a great resource for questions for us small time home brewers! His beer can be found in several restaurants around Cornwall and area as well. From what I hear, the demand is growing!
More than everything else, Karen and Andy have committed themselves to their community. Since opening they have participated in several charity events across the city. Rurban is a true family run business and we are so proud to have them in our City. So if you are visiting Cornwall be sure to stop in and say hello. I can promise you won’t be disappointed.

Love to stop in and get beer to go. The staff and owners always help you find what you like! The taproom is a great atmosphere to enjoy a beer or flight with friends.
