Kent made our wine tour so enjoyable right from the very beginning answering all our questions via email right up to the end of our day’s tour (September 24). Our first wine tour was in 2016 using a Kelowna based company visiting the wineries in Osoyoos and Oliver. That tour was quite hectic (believe we stopped at over 10, which left the tastings to be very rushed) whereas Kent made sure we had enough time at each winery to fully enjoy the experience and learn about the agriculture of the area to understand how the land created such diverse wines.
We were the first couple to book that day and he asked us of our wine preferences, wineries that we wanted to see or those that we didn’t want to see (we had a few favourites from 2016 but otherwise wanted to see new ones that we heard about). To us, this was a very conscientious way of ensuring that the guests would enjoy visiting the wineries selected based on your wine preferences (Rob likes Merlot whereas red wine makes me sleepy, though I love a full bodied, oaky red. I prefer Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio, Rose & Riesling, Sauv Blanc gives me headaches, not sure why!) and made it that much more personal.
We were joined by 2 other couples who were each celebrating their milestone anniversaries and they were very fun. This tour was to celebrate our early 28th anniversary and my birthday, so it was definitely memorable! Kent also surprised us with a garden tasting at the quaint Stoneboat Winery, which was a pleasant time as well.
We stopped for lunch at Tinhorn Creek’s Mirodoro restaurant and Kent joined Rob and myself at our table. We had a wonderful lunch with Kent, getting to know him, his business, background & he answered our questions fully, being very patient with the questions we asked!!
In closing, we highly recommend hiring Kent and his tours to really enjoy the wonderful & diverse wineries the beautiful Golden Mile wine regions throughout Oliver & Osoyoos.
Our Tour: We booked the 6.25 hour tour and Kent picked us up from the Coast Oliver hotel where we were staying. His van is very comfortable with labeled boxes for our treasures. We joined the wine club at Hester Creek which has wonderful wines along with their next door neighbour Gehringer Bros. Winery (we love their white wines!). All in all, a big thank you to Kent for making our day so much fun and memorable! We wish you lots of continued success in the years ahead!

We had a wonderful time on our Desert Country Wine Tour in the Oliver/Osoyoos region this past weekend. Kent was so friendly and knowledgeable and the van was spacious and comfortable.
I was impressed with how proactive Kent was throughout the process, first by helping us plan an advance itinerary that was both enjoyable and efficient, and then by squeezing us in for extra tastings at some hidden gems when we found ourselves with time to spare between appointments.
It was abundantly clear throughout the day how well Kent knows and loves the area, and how well-regarded he is amongst the management at the local wineries. We couldn't have asked for a better day and will definitely be booking with Kent and Desert Country Wine Tours again in the future.

Kent was wonderful and really took care of us. It's tough during Covid and he really worked his magic to maximize our time and made sure we felt safe and were prepared for each winery and their different protocols an offerings.
Scheduling guru and very knowledgeable! Thanks Kent!!!

We had an exceptional day of wine tasting with Kent from Desert Country Wine Tours. From the large, comfortable vehicle, to the information he shared about the region and wine making, to the coolers in the back of the van that kept our purchases cool, Kent thought through every detail. He also put together a fabulous itinerary and picked just the right vineyards based on our interests. I would highly recommend booking with Desert Country Wine Tours and can’t wait to go back this spring.

We travelled as a family of 4 adults and 2 children with Kent. Kent was very knowledgeable about the area and the wineries. It was great being able to travel as a private group. Kent was so friendly and made our day so enjoyable. We are already planning another trip with more family members and would recommend booking with Desert Country Wine Tours….ask for Kent.

We are local to the Okanagan and wanted a little getaway in our own backyard! Kent was a wonderful tour guide for the day taking us to 6 different fabulous wineries in the south Okanagan. He made us feel very Covid safe as did the wineries. Highly recommend Desert Country Wine Tours!

This was our second time booking a tour with Kent because he is the best. He is always attentive to our needs and goes above and beyond to ensure we always have the best time. When our first winery of the day wasn’t quite ready for us he recommended right away we go across the street to a close by winery. When we had a bit extra time between wineries he suggested we add on an additional winery. He also spoke to the restaurant at NK’MIP to get us one of the best patio tables with a view. Kent is very thoughtful and is always thinking how to make your day special. We will always book with Kent for our wine tours.

We have done 3 wine tours with Kent, each time I’m impressed with his knowledge about the region. You can see that he loves what he does, he gives you great recommendations on places to go. He has made all our wine tours very special and each one very different. We have found some new favorite wines because of places he has suggested.

It seems so surreal to think we enjoyed our 10th anniversary of wine touring with Kent (Desert Country WIne Tours). Our family has grow over the years as has our experiences and relationships with the many great winemakers and winery owners of southern BC.
Kent you have cared well for us over years and on behalf of the Hall family we want to say thank you again dear friend for what continues to be a highlight for our family each year. And what is so uniquely cool is how you and I begin planning the next years tour almost as soon as the current tour is finished.
Thank you for being part of our memories,
Your friends - Andrew, Breanne, (Jake ;), Dave, Kendra, Dan, Cydney, Joanne, Brian

Kent was an amazing guide. From the ease in communicating over email and planning the day to his overall knowledge of winemaking and maximizing our touring times, he made this a truly memorable experience. He made sure we visited a few of our requested wineries while still having time to fit in a few hidden gems. We will definitely be booking again in our next trip.
