We come every year and love it!

I understand COVID is a hard time for everyone right now - but there were a few things going on when we visited yesterday I would like to note.

There were issues booking online and our QR codes not working when we showed up. Not once were our brackets checked and I felt like almost no one had one whereas we paid for the $48.00 family package.

Then we went to book a time slot for the jumping package. It was showing on their board behind them that it was included in the "family package" as it is every year BUT needed to be booked separate.

Booked it separate, was told to come back into the barn near the time. When we came back in, there was no one available to help us and was told I now needed to pay $25.00 for my two kids. I showed them their board behind them and the response was "due to COVID we needed to remove the jumping pillow and charge an additional fee". I then asked them why I wasn't informed on this before, again no one knew. I also asked why the sign behind them still said it was included and the response was "because we have been to busy in the past two weeks to put a piece of paper over it".

I love Taves, we love supporting them but going on a Thursday afternoon to help with crowds, the driving from downtown and then almost nothing was open was disappointed.

There was no food or cafe open, which I called earlier and the response was " it should be open"When we got there, it was all closed except the Cidery. The petting zoo was open but only goats ( which that would have been mentioned)

It ended up costing us about $120 for most places to be closed, only goats in petting zoo and so many people not wearing bracelets around us that it was quite disappointing.

At least fix the sign for the pillow!

We are so sorry for your experience! We were making further changes very quickly due to the pandemic and I believe you came while old signs were being removed and new ones were being added. Prices were increased as we were only able to accommodate a fraction of the guests we normally host, to offset fixed expenses. We also needed to rent out the jumping pillow separately so only covid bubbles were jumping together. People who want admission to the corn maze, hay ride etc need bracelets but otherwise they wouldn't need to buy them for venturing out to the pumpkin patch, for example, as it's free to explore. Very sorry to confuse! Please email us at info@tavesfamilyfarms.com as we would like to refund you. We look forward to a more normal season next fall!

Great place to spend some time - especially with children. Corn maze, lots of animals to see, and a general store to get treats. Washrooms on site as most children need a break when out and about.

This is a nice family run farm with a cidery, places to walk around and see animals, apple barn, and activities for kids. Great place to come for a couple of hours on a nice day.

Today I went to Taves Family Farm expecting it to be great. I heard about the bunny section of the farm and was very excited due to the fact that I own and care for bunnies myself. But when I got there I couldn't believe what I saw. So many rabbits with Wire Cage flooring (which is the worst it could possibly be) and an area where you could actually touch some of the very tiny rabbits. Knowing a large amount about rabbits and their health I saw many rabbits with serious health problems that probably won't get treated. As for the other animals I don't know much about them, but from what I saw it was just an awful experience for me. I cried for a long while before writing this because I feel like this farm cares more about money than the wellness of their animals. If it got rid of their animals completely in a proper way or gave them the proper care they need I would consider coming back because everything else is great, but so far I don't see myself coming back again or suggesting this farm to anyone.

Thank you for voicing your opinion and expressing your concerns. We deeply value all feedback and take all comments seriously. However, we must address a few points you make with facts. -the wire cages have clear, comfortable plastic sleeping pads (since they are clear, it makes it hard to see) but are used to remove feces. This support actually keeps the cages cleaner and we wash out the catch boards underneath them twice a day. -the statement regarding ill bunnies greatly worried us. In fact, we ran to the barn as soon as we read your comment thinking perhaps we missed something. Very happy to report that not a single bunny is ill. Some might get colds as people do, but that is the extent of any illness. -We have several bunnies so we don't overstress the animals ever. We bring some out for the children to see and then bring them back We absolutely love our animals and care for them deeply. We wish that you had talked to us while you visited our farm so we could have addressed all concerns immediately. We do hope you'll return. :)

Had gone here for over 15 years.. this year will be my last. $31 for a super pass to do activities each, so even $31 for a parent to watch their kid play…no thanks.. then to have a girl follow an adult down and stop them from entering the play area to take a photo of their kids.. sad to see greed has taken over this company. And $17.50 to fill a tiny bag of apple or $52.50 for a regular sized bag…and my daughters pants got red paint stained on them from the bouncy thing. The only friendly staff member was an older gentleman named Trent. I won’t be back to this farm again.

We are so sorry to read this and to have disappointed you! Would you be able to contact us at info@tavesfamilyfarms.com ? We would like to explain our pricing structure, which is a reflection of our increased expenses but also how admission is free for certain attractions like the Pumpkin Patch and Princess Carriage during the week. Our very best.

I go here every year with my husband. It's always nice to see and pet the animals. The bunnies are my favourite. Pumpkins and cider make this trip complete. I would highly recommend even to those without children.

There is a reason that droves of people come from Richmond and Vancouver to Abbotsfords Apple Barn. There is so much to do there. It's fun for all ages. Bring your camera and do a mini photoshoot.
The food is amazing. Roasted corn, apple cider slushies, mini doughnuts, dried apple chips, pies and apple cider to take home are my families favorites. Dont forget your pumpkin and freshly picked (or u pick ) apples. My favorite is the Jonagolds but my family loves ten Honeycrisp apples the best .

Came here with my son on a class field trip and we loved it! We got to watch the apple sorter, visit the animals, try apple cider, go on the pumpkin ballon trampoline, corn maze, and tractor ride. The tractor ride was a highlight as it’s a decent length ride that takes you through the apple orchard and out to the pumpkin patch. I imagine this place gets very busy so I’m happy we went during the week very early in October!

A day at the Applebarn is a great activity with small children. It is free if you don't do any of the attractions, but what's the point of that?

You can start with an apple cider macchiato (which is surprisingly tasty, albeit served a bit lukewarm.)

Then wander around the grounds where petting zoo opportunities are sprinkled between rabbit pens, crazy duck enclosures, pot-bellied pigs and goats galore. The goats will wait to be fed from tall wooden bridge perches via a visitor controlled pulley system. SERIOUSLY!

Pony rides and a corn maze round out activities that don't require "heavy lifting". You may want to grab a fresh corn on the cob or potato before heading to the fields. The melted butter and assortment of spices to sprinkle on your vegetable of choice are delightful.

They have several varieties of apples and pumpkins. I recommend your apple and pumpkin picking to the end of the day so you don't have to carry them around, however, your car is never far and they have handy wheelbarrows to cart your loot.

The little hayride to the pumpkin patch was probably the most informative bit for us. You can also pop into the country store before you go to pick up some apple cider and other treats.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DON'T LIKE SMALL CHILDREN! They're everywhere! This is definitely a family activity.
