This lovely park has many places to enjoy a picnic, have a nap on the grass or stroll around the lake. They are protecting the painted tortoise that lives there (we didn’t see one). There’s a boardwalk over the lake that connects to the trail.

Nice walk around the lake! Paths are smooth enough to accommodate a small stroller! Multiple parks including a splash pad to enjoy on the way!

A nice, tranquil spot for you to clear your head, or maybe take the kiddos to run let off some steam.

It was peaceful and calm, with everyone I passed saying good morning. It is a bigger lake and walk than I originally thought. It is Abbotsford’s Central Park.

Enjoyed the walk today but glad there were some benches to sit on as almost 1.5miles. View of Mt. Baker, kids park, eagles nest, and too many gooses! The city should do more to hose down the walkway at night when no people walking, get poop in your shoes! on the grass and other areas. Lots of ducks also. Why are not bylaws enforcing people not to feed this birds? Would be nice just even to park in the lot, walk around the area. Lake beautiful for this city as fishing also I see. Parking limited thou, could by more stalls for families. Will do it again. (longbeach).

Good location and lots of parking. Safety issue for pedestrians sometimes from excessive amount of goose feces and aggressive geese and some bicycle riders having no respect for pedestrians on the walking paths. Would be great if people would not feed the geese, as indicated on the signs.

The walk ways in some places are very dirty, mucky, uneven, puddles. The paved path should be cleaned or hosed off more often! There is leaves, dirty, often, slippery sections. The white line is worn off for middle of path way. The park where there is flowers, roses, paths are dirty with leaves and for a big city quite poor maintenance. It has been this way for years, and more land scaping should be done. Trees planted, more flowers, flowering trees, and just not a very good picture taking area of beauty. More paths amongst more plants that flower or nice to sit under and enjoy the view of the lake. More benches in some areas also would help people with disabilities or seniors walking. Could be improved. (Longbeach).

Nice 45 minute walk, lots of benches, trees, picnic tables, kids play areas with water park. Great for bird spotting, but the geese are polluting the grass.

This lake is in the middle of Abbotsford. It is wheelchair accessible and easy to get around. There is a paved trail, water park, outdoor pool (in the summer), lawn bowling and couple of kids play grounds and plenty of benches to rest and enjoy the views. There are plenty of birds to watch and a couple of nesting eagles.

Me and my friend want to play music, are we allowed to play at mill lake? And would we be able to use an amplifier for guitar?

I have heard lots of music on Sundays in a lawn part beside Mill Lake, and also in the evenings. There is a noise by/law I know but think it is 11pm. Check with city by laws web site. I see and hear many people playing guitars, drums ect in the evenings. Good Luck. (LB.)

Do you have to Reserve a picnic table to have a barbeque at Melaque. Do they have a barbeque pets that you can use.

I believe that picnic areas need to be reserved via permit, but the City of Abbotsford would be able to let you know more. Remember that there is still the issue of Covid so I am not sure you can reserve anything. Not sure about the BBQ pits...... check with the City of Abbotsford.
Can you fish ?

Yes you can. I don't know what kind of fish are in there, but you can certainly fish. We see people with rowboats on the water and using poles from the bridge.

I have a motorized wheelchair. Is the walk around the lake handicap accessible?
Kate G

Yes it is. There is a bridge over part of the lake that may be difficult to manage but I think it is possible.
when does the water park open 2018?

I waTs past there yesterday and it was open and kids everywhere.
I'm planning a 90th birthday picnic for my mom at Mill Lake Park. There will be lots of great grandkids attending so I'd like to reserve a picnic shelter near a playground and splash area if possible. There are 4 picnic areas available for reservations at the Park website (numbered 1 thru 4). I'm not that familiar with the park - which one would be best?

I would try for number one. It is the closest to the water playground. Hope you have fun.
