We booked a couple nights camping in August.
Lucky to get a spot but then we had to cancel.
The full charge was $90 for both nights, no power or water at the site.
Still not a bad price consider it’s prime season in the mountains.
But we only got $29 back as a refund.
There is absolutely no doubt our spot would be filled and the campsite wouldn’t lose a penny.
I thought a $60 penalty was a bit steep.
How often does this occur in a season?
I think they’re making a lot of money from cancellations.

If you are looking for a vacation where you can camp, fish, hike, bike, golf and enjoy a campfire while looking at a backscape of magestic mountains... William Switzer is the place to go. We camped in the Gregg Lake campground for 2 weeks enjoying what we believe is one of the most beautiful and natural locations on the planet. You must see it to experience it.

This has always been my favourite place to go in Alberta. The five lakes that link together via Jarvis Creek are beautiful. I have taken my kids canoeing from Jarvis Lake to Gregg Lake (although best to start at Blue Lake where you can also get boat rentals). The Gregg Lake Campground is a very nice place to stay with full hookups, but there are some great non-serviced campgrounds at the other lakes as well. Kelly's Bathtub is a beautiful spot to take pictures of the lake and go for a swim, but it does get deep quickly here. There are also plenty of trails to explore, and the park office has free activities for kids and plenty of information.

When you want to get away from it all, you have to get away from the campgrounds. If you want a safe place to park your RV/trailer, then this is a very nice park, great views, lots to do. Water sports, hiking, lots of biking trails. If you are a backpacker, and enjoy real solitude and silence, you can head out and find the greatest experience in the Canadian wilderness. JUST BE READY. make sure you know where you are going, have supplies with you and be aware that the animals are closer then you think. It's a photographer's dream, play safe and have a great time camping, and being part of nature in a pristine setting. By the way, slow down on the road, animals are everywhere.

This park has a lot to offer. There are campgrounds that are nestled in the beautiful spruce and pine shore lines of Jarvis Lake, Gregg Lake, Graveyard Lake and others. I fish the streams and lakes in this park and have cought a variety of trout. The 2 lane highway is narrow and traveling through the park can be a little hazardous.(Shoulders are almost none existent in some area's and wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, bear and other animals can suddenly decide to cross the road in front of you!)The fall is the most beautiful time to come and enjoy this park but the nights can get cold and snow in the month of September is common at the high elevations. Summer months are busy and campgrounds fill up fast on long weekends.

Stopped her with my family after leaving Jasper National Park. Had done some research for some 'easy' hikes that our family of 3 kids, ages 5, almost 3 and 16 months could do. Found Kelley's bathtub behind the Switzer Park visitor center and enjoyed this hike more than some areas Jasper Park. The park is clean, well kept and the hike down to where Kelley's bathtub meets Jarvis lake is beautiful. You are surrounded by gorgeous scenery breathing in fresh alpine air mixed with the scent of evergreens. This place is a paradise and I can't wait to go back.

Jasper is getting to the point where it's not convenient to spend time there in the summer. William Switzer is a great alternative and another perspective on the Rocky Mountains.

We have camped at Gregg lake for the past 3 years and will continue to come back. Tall trees nice sites and clean bathrooms and showers. The only issues I have is that they should put more power and water sites. The lake is close to the campsite and very stunning, a great place to kayak. If your looking for an great campground this is the place.

Provided rating does not reflect this park itself but the quality of service of the Alberta Parks itself. I had booked 3 nights reservation at Gregg Lake campground from 19-22 May 2017 for May Long Weekend. There was a notification on 16 May that there will be no water available in the park due to some conditions so I tried to cancel the booking because of lack of water is affecting shower and washroom services as well. But Administration still charged me cancellation penalty because "Advisories" are not a ground for cancellation. This is a clear case of "Loss of Service" but they would not listen. Better to go to BC Parks. I always had a good experience with them including the situations like this !!!

We camped in Switzer Park recently and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed at the Gregg Lake campground. The campground has many amenities including some of the cleanest campground showers that we have experienced. The sites are all in the trees, and are spaced apart nicely. We found that once it got dark it got very quiet in the park with no rowdy campers that we were aware of. The staff ant the registration booth were very friendly and provided some assistance to us when our trailer slide quit functioning. The price for a site with 30 Amp power was 27 a night. Very reasonable.

There are many lakes in the area with fish and many things to do and see, including a number of hikes.

We spoke with others about these visit to the park and many had been there before and many said it was an underutilized area. We were there for close to a week and there was empty sites each night.

We would recommend camping and staying in this park. Great scenery and very close to Jasper National Park which we took a day trip into.
