About
Nicknamed by many golfers as "The Enchanted Forest", the Hinton Golf Club invites you to come and re-experience our club. The changes in recent years to a number of holes, as well as a new driving range & practice facility compliment the tree lined fairways and great mountain views golfers have enjoyed for decades. 2013 Marks the beginning of a new era at HGC. Many on course and service related improvements will continue to be made to enhance your overall experience. The new clubhouse (opened in 2011) provides members and guests with an amazing panoramic view to accompany their meal and time with friends. We look forward to your next visit as HGC is always worth the drive!

Was golfing today, and got ran off the course by the staff because we were beginners. We were told the place was overbooked at the third hole, then we got told we were holding up a group of 8 behind us, whereas a group of 8 technically isn't allowed on the course, as we were told by the staff. The drink and food cart was almost completely empty, and we were told that it would not be re stocked, which I found very strange for a Saturday afternoon. The only positive experience I had with this business was the course, and we definitely won't be returning anytime soon due to terrible organization and poor treatment to patrons. Golfing is expensive enough, I shouldn't have to feel rushed to get through the 18 holes that I payed for, and didn't even get to finish. We got through 7 holes before we were rushed off the course. Would have given 1 star if not for the beauty the course entails.

Difficult to review - average? above average? Depends on the nine. We were driving to Jasper to golf the Lodge and decided to stop in the day before and golf Hinton. The course green fees were reasonable (the cart rentals were not) and we loved the front nine - carved beautifully out of the forest above the town. The back nine was quirky, rural municipal course that needs a lot of work to match the front nine. It was like playing two different course - and probably are - the old 50s style back nine and newer modern front nine. Staff not overly friendly - may stop in again but it would have to be a deal or see major improvement to the back nine.

Played over the long weekend at the Hinton Golf Club. The course was in great shape as a lot of the GIR that was present for a long time is now repaired. The fairways and greens are in great condition and new club house is pretty nice. However, as I was from out of town my round was impromptu I had to rent some clubs. I have never witnessed any course from BC to SASK where the rental fees for clubs were over $20. The $45 price tag on rentals at this course is way over priced and needs to be reviewed. The attitudes around the course left us feeling that we are out of place if not members or frequently attending the course. I think the rental price is also there to make you feel not welcome as you would not want to play there again if you have to rent. Not required but its always good to have a pro shop staff to have a sense of humor makes people feel welcome...but I don't think that is what this course is going for.

Enjoyed a wonderful golf game, a bit soggy but great considering the spring we had. The new owners of the bar and Grill are amazing, personable and the food was unreal. Highly recommend taking the time to come for a round or a meal. This picture is a view from the patio.

I booked a tee time for July 6 for 5 Family memebers. The tee times were for 10 and 10:09 am. We arrived early and paid the $425.25 and as we left the Pro Shop, I asked if there was going to be a call of us to go on and the staff said nope just go on. So off we went all 5 of us. We waited a few minutes for a twosome to take their turn and then we went. No Marshal was there to direct us or split us . When we got to about the 3 hole, this rather snotty Marshal showed up to tell us that standard club rules are 4 players and that if we did not pick up the pace we would need to split up. Unknown to the Marshal we had caught the twosome ahead of us a couple of times so our pace for 5 players was fine, we finished the first 9 in exactly 2 hours 12:11 to be exact. We started the back nine and to make sure we would be ok decided to play best ball and were at the second hole when this Marshal showed up again to tell us if we did not pick up our pace again we would need to be split up, she then followed us for the third hole. And then again on the fourth....by then my whole family was now rushing through their turns and it was no longer fun. There was a foursome behind us that did not seem to be waiting to play because of us. As a group we decided that we would not continue playing the remaining holes because we could not play fast enough for the Marshal. She then came by to tell us we where ok that there was no one in front of us and only three teams behind us??? I know ....... how can we be playing too slow one minute and then golden the next. My family is not pros but we play golf on a regular basis and at better more professional courses that the Hinton course, with Real Marshall’s at the first hole and throughout the course to keep everything moving what Hinton has as a controlled course is a JOKE. They have no issue taking your money for the rounds and even on the sadly stocked beer cart but would not credit me back any money for the holes we did not play. Anyway not that it matters to the golf course that we would never come back but please all people going to plan a golf trip be very weiry of this hole.......

We traveled this way to do some sight seeing in Jasper and stayed 2 night in Hinton as it was cheaper then Jasper. So one afternoon we decided to golf the Hinton course and what a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT that was. First it's so over priced, they say "because of the Mountains" but later found out for $35 more we could have golfed in Jasper, right in the Mountains. Anyway we were charged for each person in the cart so $54 just for a freaking electric cart. So thinking we must be riding in style here we get to our cart and it's filthy, mud all over it, window was dirty. Then half way threw the course we are wondering why no drink cart? So we call and no drink cart today and later find out they had no staff to run it, what a joke. And for an over priced golf experience you also get SOAKED fair ways, pot holes and wet paths. Would NEVER golf here again and wouldn't suggest it to anyone either.

We were on the way to Vancouver, just before Jasper, a tanker truck was on fire and RCMP closed down the highway, we detoured and went to play golf in Hinton. Both the tee boxes and fairway were in better condition than the 3 courses that I usuallyplay in Edmonton, the green fees are a bit expensive, but the scenery was great, saw some deers along the way, and heard rustles in the bush, we weren't sure if it was a bear or not, and didn't want to wait to find out, so we just move on to the next hole. It was great to our vacation.

We took a break from hiking and sightseeing in Jasper N.P. and decided to get in a round of golf, since we were staying in Hinton anyway. We each brought a glove and sleeve of balls from home and rented clubs, one man's set, one woman's. The clubs were fairly new and pretty nice!
The course offered many elevation changes and some blind shots. The fairways' grass was in very good condition, though there were many small bumps, as if built over rocky terrain (probably so!). Greens ran a bit slow but in general also in good shape.
We came back for dinner that night and sat on the open deck, overlooking the 18th green and the mountains in the distance. The server and chef were super personable, and we enjoyed an excellent, unrushed time. The wine choices were very limited that night, but we both enjoyed our "lazy lasagna" and open-faced steak sandwich. Prices were quite reasonable.

Great golf course in the mountains with challenging holes and great views. We played here during our stay in Hinton while visiting Jasper. The staff that works here is very friendly and helpful. You can rent full equipment and golf cart here.
Enjoy!
