This hidden little gem is full of wilderness and beauty.it has fresh strawberries everywhere on the trail. Wild strawberries,in the summer and a winter wonderland in the winter.

The 1.5 km all uphill trail from the Luge parking lot to the Athabasca Lookout is full of beautiful wild flowers, like wild lilies. Beautiful scenery on top of the Lookout. Highly recommended.

Hinton Nordic Centre is a real find. The trails are challenging and fun and the scenery is amazing. Hinton also has very affordable accommodations, which makes it a great place for a weekend trip.

A great time at a place that is tops in its field. Everyone that tries it agrees that the facilities, the staff, everything is well above average. Try it, you will enjoy it.

A wonderful facility to visit with wide and spacious cross country ski trails throughout in Winter....converting to wonderful wilderness walks, trails and lookouts in the Spring/Summer. An all year round, multi-functional family or solo place to visit and play! I do not ski or luge (I don't know how, having come originally from Australia) but the Bonhomme Carnival/Festival that I attended (public) was a wonderful experience with Cotton Candy, Maple Taffy, soups and stews as well as a range of equipment and experiences provided for people (families) on the day! Educational/Information displays were set up in the Lodge and Alberta Parks had pictures, furs and Park Wardens on hand to teach the children about wildlife in the area! Make your way to the Hinton Nordic Centre (Hinton Nordic Skiers Lodge) when you can...its a lot of fun for those that love the great outdoors and a challenge! (35km trails available)

The Hinton Nordic Centre is one of the best hidden jems in the cross country ski world. I love going skiing here and would recommend it to all skiers. The terrain is a bit hilly so watch where you go (it was built to host a World Cup). all trails are groomed for skate and classic. Main lodge is rustic and there is a nice warmup hut out at tone of the lookouts. For $10/day you can't beat it.
