It was a bucket list adventure that was so much fun! The guides and staff taught us everything to mush our own sled! The dogs were so cute and sweet and happy to run. We got lots of husky kisses, and heard them sing the song of their people.

We had an absolute blast on the sled dog tour. Fantastic experience through the ice and snow. The control of the dogs was incredible. Even loved being tipped over. Ha ha.

This was an amazing experience. We did the self drive and I am so glad we did! It is apparent that the dogs are loved by the guides. The guides make sure that you know what to expect throughout the adventure too. This is a must do!!

What a phenomenal experience! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with nothing but friendliness, experience and knowledge. We self-guided our sled but our guide, Shane, was incredible. He was very supportive, encouraging and made us feel very comfortable and safe. Our guide dogs, Willow and Pixie, were also amazing. A special shout out to shy little Jinx! She stole our hearts!

This was an awesome experience. Didn’t know what to expect, but no disappointment at all. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. I am scared of dogs, but did not feel uneasy at anytime. Dogs were very friendly, especially our lead dogs, Poison and Jaguar, and a big shout out to our guide, Daryl. Only one tip, wear thick socks, or even better, hire the boots.

We enjoyed a two hour two person self driven dog sled tour today and it was awesome.
Poncho drove us from Canmore to the tour site safely and with a few added jokes.
Upon arrival we met Bennie who introduced us to the team of dogs and gave us all the info we needed for an amazing day.
Shane was our guide ahead of us who was very helpful and gave great instructions along the way. Our lead dogs Mortisha and Rasca were so sweet and really did all the work. Both my husband and I enjoyed driving as we were able to switch half way. I want to thank the whole crew for making this an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend this tour and be I think the four hour tour would be amazing too. Thanks Bennie, Shane, Mortisha and Rasca. .

This is one tick in our family bucketlist and Snowy Owl Dog Tour made it the most incredible experience!
First class service from Booking process to the day of the tour. Everything is so organised and handled with such professionalism. The actual tour is the highlight, all the crew are so friendly, professional and helpful. They have crew posted in many areas along the trail, each hard turn and every climb, a helping hand is there to ensure our safety. Main thing for me in chosing Snowy Owl Tour is their dog well being and condition. They are well looked after, healthy and energetic. The crew handle them so well.
Our original booking was cancelled due to extremely cold weather and they had no other availability, I had an option to book somewhere but when I saw reviews about dog condition, I rather not to have a tour than being to one that don't look after their dogs as well as Snowy Owl.
Snowy Owl for me is the first Dog Sled Tour on Canmore, top class and I highly recommend it to all. THANK YOU to all the crew on our Tour today (23/12/22)- you are all amazing!
Thank you #SnowyOwlDogtour. You are first class!

Thank you @IESouth for the review. Our Husky Hero's are our top priority and treated and loved like family. It did get a little chilly there last week and happy we could re-schedule you. Thank you and we are so happy you had a great time, and we look forward hopefully to see you again for another exciting adventure with us.

A day we will never forget. The site is magestic. The guides were excellent, the dogs were so strong and so happy to give us a good ride. We also had the chance to get a lot of cuddles with them.

Thank you for the review linebR8802EH. The cuddle part of the tour gets high reviews with our husky hero's too! They just love the snuggles and cuddlies.
So happy you had a great time and we hope to see you again for another epic adventure with us :)

What an amazing experience! We got to play with dogs, drive a dogsled, play with dogs, ride in the sled, play with dogs, warm up by a fire. Oh, and okay with dogs. (I think the dogs were having as much fun as we were.) It’s so wonderful to see a group that cares so very much about all their pups, and treats them so well. Absolutely book this adventure with this company.

What would you say the minimum age requirement to enjoy the tour would be? Are there any age restrictions?
Our 2 hour tour has no age restriction, so we welcome guests of any age to attend. Our longer tours do have minimum requirements based on length. It is really dependent on the child, but please consider that for the entire duration of the tour they will be outside.

What have other visitors found to be the best time of the day for this experience (the 2 hour option), if given the choice? They are offered at 9 and 11 AM, 1 and 3 PM. Thanks!
Hi there!
All tour times are great, and they do vary dependent on availability however the 9:00 am is beautiful with the sun rising but can be a tad cold depending on the day. The 11:00 am and 1:00 pm are very similar in that they are both in the middle of the day and the day has had time to warm up a bit. The 3:00 pm is wonderful as the lighting is still great, and the day is starting to cool off a bit again.

Hi, me and my wife planning to visit Canmore in the last week of April. Is it too late to have the sledge dog experience? I could not find a service offering for this experience on your list. Need to see detail about the experience. Could you please share a link?
Hi Shahria,
The month of April is always a guessing game. Typically the last week of April is too late however. We usually make it to mid-April if the weather and trail conditions are cooperating. Please find all details for our tours on our website! :)

Thank you. What are conditions like there in Mid March? That is our spring break and wanted to know if there is still snow there. Don't laugh, but I am from Houston, Texas where it hardly EVER snows :(
We love the post and pictures and LOVE the dogs!
Hello! Mid March is actually a great time to come. We typically still have plenty of snow and can usually operate until Mid April.
Hello,
I took a look at your website and I saw that the 2 hour express tour requires 6 people to operate, does that mean that I need to have a group of 6 people to take this tour?
Hello! That does not mean your specific group must have 6 people, but rather a total of 6 people between all reservations made must total at minimum 6 for us to operate the tour.

Hello, I will be there in July so I know we can’t actually do sled tours. What do you have available for the summer, what is the costs and do we have to make reservations? Thanks in advance.

Hi there. We are traveling to BC in February and looking to do some adventures as a family. Dog sledding is on our list :-)
My question is this, are we allowed to bring our small dog in the trip with us? She will be in a small soft carrier if needed.
Thanks!

Hello,
Unfortunately we do not allow pets on our adventures as it does have the potential to distract our husky heroes from their job and potentially put you, your dog and other visitors at risk.
Thank you for asking your question in advance and should you have any other question, please don’t hesitate to contact our office and speak with one of our representatives.
We hope to see you on the trail!

Hi, Was wandering what your prices are for excursions? dates just after Christmas 27th or 28th?
Hello! Prices depend on the length of tour and the sled configuration that you chose. All information regarding our winter adventure tours can be found on our website, including prices!

My twins turn 6 years old late January. Is that a good time to go? Or would it be too cold?

If you have the correct snow clothing as we did ....and we are from Australia .....your twins will have a wonderful fantastic experience both on/in the sleds and also spending time with the dogs.
