Our travel agent booked this as part of our honeymoon package. My husband is an avid skier and thought that would be the highlight of the trip. He was so wrong! The whole dog sledding experience was incredible! Our driver was so funny and played the saxophone. The guides are knowledgeable and make you aware of what to do. You drive your own sled and it was exhilarating. My husband said this was his new favorite activity and we are already there planning a return trip with our son. This a a must.

Congratulations on your marriage! We are so glad that you were able to spend part of your honeymoon with us. Now that you've experienced our signature self-driven sled, perhaps your husband will hang up the ski's and become a musher?! Lol We can't wait to see you again with your son!

We went on a 2 hour tour. The experience was exciting and professional from start to finish. We had a guided sled with Elsa as our guide. She was so knowledgeable and very clearly loves what she does. This was a great company to work with and the location in Canmore makes it ideal for travellers. The dogs are the highlight of the trip. They are so friendly, excited and well behaved. You get plenty of time interacting with the dogs and they are so special. This is an experience I will never forget. Book with Snowy Owl and you won't be disappointed.

Surprised how quickly I picked up as a leader of the wonderful dogs (and equally they were leading me). It is a great experience despite -24C on this occasion. This activity is a top 5 for anyone visiting Canmore and Banff.

Glad you had a fun time guiding the dogs on your self driven sled despite the cold. You can officially call yourself a musher!

What a disappointment we had today, when we showed up on time for our reservation, only to be told the bus had left without us, and there was nothing we could do. They still charged us in full, and refused to reschedule us in one of their open time slots. Instead they wanted to charge us again! The issue was that the confirmation email from them said that the departure was 11am, and it was only when they called at 10:25, did we learn that they intended to depart at 10:35, with no waiting. It didn't matter that we were 10 minutes away. Unbelievable. We got there at 10:43, easily on time, and the bus was gone. Come to find out, as one of the girls there suggested, they had given away our slot to another party. Totally unfair, and difficult to explain to two expectant little girls. I'm upset about the lost money of course, but it's just wrong to give reservations without honoring them.

There are a few things that potential future guests should take away from Keith’s review of our company. 1. That we stand behind our policies and 2. That we don’t tolerate bullying or harassing behaviour. What Keith also fails to mention in his one-sided review of us, is that he was sent a detailed tour confirmation at the time of his booking, which he was required to (and did) initial next to his pickup time and location (our office at 10:15am), and a full signature below our cancellation policy, which states: I/We are bound by a 48-hour cancellation policy where if I/We cancel our tour within 48 hours of our reservation, Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours™ will retain the full cost of the tour, this is also applicable to “no-shows” or “late guests”. Any guests who are ill or have experienced an unforeseen circumstance resulting in them not being able to attend their tour, Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours™ reserves the right to request official paperwork confirming the incident. I/We understand that it is at the discretion of Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours™ as to what circumstance deems a refund or reschedule. He also received a reminder email the day prior reminding him of his tour and encouraging him to review his tour confirmation to ensure he knew when and where to be. Clearly, he didn’t take that advice. So, when he and his family failed to show up on time, we called, yes at 10:25am, to find out where they were out of courtesy, they were still in Banff. The rest of our guests who all received the same tour confirmation were able to make it on time, so we were busy providing them with great customer service upon their check-in! Our bus departed on-time at 10:30am, with many happy guests who all enjoyed their dog sledding adventure. Once Keith arrived at our office, he was rude to our staff who tried to explain to him that, unfortunately, since he was late, we were not able to accommodate his family on the tour. He continued to berate our office staff, yelling at them to “stop hiding behind policies!” He was again informed that we were unable to accommodate his family that day, and if he would like to rebook, he could, paying in full, after which he stormed out. Approximately, 20 minutes later, Keith’s wife came back in, crying and apologizing for her husband's behaviour and asking if they could be put on our waitlist. Contrary to what Keith claims in his review, his spot was not filled, and we had staff and dogs ready to go for them up at our dog sledding site. So, the real question is, who should pay for Keith’s mistake? Us or him? If you book with us know that we stand behind our policies, we don’t tolerate bullying behaviour and if you read your extremely thorough tour confirmation, that you will enjoy your dog sledding adventure and have the time of your life!
