Just finished an outdoor lead climbing course with Paddy and 2 other friends. It was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely prepared and brought tons of extra gear that we might have been missing as well as some extra equipment that we haven't seen before, all to make sure that we were introduced to anything we might encounter once we choose to venture further into the sport ourselves.
His ample guidance and patience really goes above and beyond what we would have expected coming into this. Additionally, he was extremely accommodating of our skill levels, and was able to make the course not only very informative but also tons of fun. By our request, he was also able to tailor the course to show us some extra safety skills such as tying off a belay in order to call for help, which really gives us confidence and peace of mind for when we climb by ourselves.
Having over 30 years of experience in the climbing scene and an extensive background in alpinism and mountain rescue really makes Paddy a guide that rises above all others. You can be sure that he'll be the one I return to for additional courses in the future.
5 stars, can't recommend enough!

Climbed with Theresa Yau at the Zigoat. Newbie climbers but picked it up so fast with theresa as our guide. She was so well informed. Had an awesome, chill vibe and had no problem giving us a little more details so we could gain extensive knowledge to be not such beginners. Safe to say im hooked on climbing and cannot wait to get back out there

My 16-year-old son and I had a fantastic time during our first rock climbing experience with CanRock Mountain Guides! While Paddy is certified and trained to guide some of the most challenging mountain adventures, he was so kind and patient as he introduced a couple of rookies to the world of rock climbing.
Not knowing anything about rock climbing, we appreciated the time that was taken to explain the purpose and function of the equipment and the terminology related to the sport. Paddy is extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer all your questions! Safety is of utmost importance to Paddy as safety and equipment checks were done before each and every climb. So appreciated!
The 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio was amazing as was the private location we lucked out on for the entire day! Due to our smaller group size, we had an opportunity to actively learn each role involved in climbing and practice the requirements of those roles multiple times throughout the day.
We were so appreciative of Paddy's patience, his encouragement, and his genuine interest in helping us succeed at each and every climb.
If you are looking for a guided mountain adventure, I would highly recommend Paddy! He's the best!

We had the BEST time with Paddy on the Via Ferrata climbing experience!! I would highly recommend booking this if you’re looking to see the Rockies from up high - the views were unreal! We learned so much about via ferratas, the area and new climbing skills from Paddy. He was a fantastic guide, super patient and knowledgeable, and an incredible photographer as well (all photos were taken by him)! With limited climbing experience, Paddy made us feel extremely safe and confident. Can't wait to return and take on the next level via ferrata with him!

This.... was..... awesome!! The views from the route are stunning, and the route itself is well thought out. The day I did it was a beauty so a t-shirt was plenty warm, however on a cooler or windier day make sure to bring some extra layers. Paddy (guide) was excellent - super friendly, competent, and thorough with explaining how the gear worked, and he was helpful while climbing. Make sure to pack a snack for the top, and enjoy some time at the "picnic table with the best view in David Thompson country"! Also be prepared, the descent trail is steep and loose in places.... it is not a regular hiking trail until you get down into the valley.... but that just adds to the adventure! I would 100% do this again. Two thumbs up. And yes the water really is that color!

I was lucky to spend a week with Paddy Jerome as part of the Alpine Club of Canada's General Mountaineering Camp in July 2021. Paddy was the lead Guide, and ensured everyone got to climb as many mountains as they could, while maintaining everyone's safety.
I was guided by Paddy on three separate days, and I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. It didn't matter what crazy terrain we were in, Paddy was calm, and was able to manage the entire group. I always felt safe with him, even when pushed way outside my comfort zone.
While Paddy has a tonne of excess capacity, he always kept the pace well within the group's ability. We kept up a steady pace, but never felt pushed.
Whatever mountain adventure you are after, whether it's mountaineering, rock climbing or via ferrata, I highly recommend Paddy as your guide.

Patrick's sport climbing course was exactly the outdoor learning experience I was looking for. He was such a fun instructor but was also super knowledgeable and experienced. I think he went above and beyond to make sure we had a quality course and personalized experience. I also would definitely recommend Patrick's course because the small 4 person class size is an ideal environment to ask questions and get lots of practice and repetition so you feel confident on the rock. Thanks Paddy! Will definitely come back for any future mountain courses!

I took a lead climbing course with Paddy and it was a great experience. Paddy was extremely knowledgeable, good at communicating and it was clear how much passion and experience he has.
Having a maximum group size of 4 for the course was nice, as Paddy was able to pay more attention to each participant and make sure everyone was understanding the concepts that he was explaining. In the two day course, he taught us all of the skills to confidently be able to lead outdoors, as well as a lot of extra skills that came about just from questions that we asked him. Paddy also did his best to tailor the course to the groups skill levels to ensure that everyone was comfortable with the activities and that everyone was having a good time.
I definitely recommend anyone of any skill level to take a course with Paddy.

I took a 2 days outdoor lead climb with paddy among my other friends. It was a fantastic experience. He is well prepared, experienced, and passionate. In the course, He brought different kinds of equipment and allows us to get familiar with different gears in a safe and control environment, so we are prepared when we encounter it in the future.
The course is also well-tailored to our skill level. He can accommodate our skill level and guide us on how we can improve on our climb. At our request, He went the extra mile to introduce us to some emergency skills, such as tying off a belay to call for help. This gives us additional safety skills when we climb by ourselves.
Paddy is an experienced climb and a good teacher. With his multi-years of experience, we learned a lot from him during the 2 days of training and learned how to prepare to climb by ourselves safely. I am coming back for another course with paddy in future and recommending him to others.

For our group of 4, Mount Stelfox was our first via ferrata. What an amazing experience we had with Paddy! He is a highly skilled guide and made even the nervous feel very comfortable prior to the start of our climb. He had great stories and was super relatable. Overall, this was an incredible adventure and I would highly recommend it even for those who have no experience climbing. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying Mount Ernest Ross next time. I guarantee, you will not be disappointed!
